I wouldn't worry, happens everytime his fingers hit a keyboard!
Thought he had quit MSE forums because of the constant bullying? (ie people disagreeing with him or pointing out errors in what he was posting). Or maybe that was someone else.
Anyway, all this is from the poster who was quite happy to ask for advice on here when given a ticket for "parking" in a loading bay! :rotfl:

You just couldn't make some of this stuff up if you tried. And this was just 6 weeks ago.

I totally disagree with NHS charging for parking.
BUT they do not need to employ these PPCs either - they can easily set up car park barriers that issue a ticket, and you pay the time you have stayed, and cannot get out of the car park without a validated ticket.
People visiting relatives, or people receiving long term care, receive a 'get out free' card.

Exactly, I saw the sign and I decided to park anyway, I managed to get out of it because of an error in the TRO. But that's besides the point.
I get annoyed when !!!!y little idiots think that after getting caught parking without paying they should only pay the parking fee they were supposed to have paid.
Parking enforcement costs money. If you ran a business you'd understand how much it costs to pay peoples wages, national issurance, business rates, electrcitiy, insurance, etc.0 -

The NHS can use taxpayers money to build an electronic parking system. Which would probably cost in the region of millions. You can't have big heavy barriers dropping up and down because some ididot is going to walk under and bash his head in. So that requires clever building planning so it's away from pedestrians.
Which means more land, probably underground parking.
All electronic parking systems still require personall because tokens get lost/become defective.
People enter the car park through the barriers and then dont have money to pay to exit so staff have to take their details/call recover vehicle to cease it.
it would actually be a huge cost to the taxpayer. And more expensive overall. Why punish the taxpayer? Just punish the people parking without paying.0 -
Most we see on here have not avoided paying to park, most cases are from free car parks where a minor overstay has occurred and a swingeing £100 penalty is imposed by (at times) 'one man and his dog' ticketers (former wheel clampers) under contract law.
Contract law only provides for the collection of genuine pre-estimate of losses, which on a free car park are arguably zilch, but being generous would cost the PPC around a tenner to collect. There is no scope to claim for general running costs of the business.
This position has been supported by POPLA in almost 100% of cases where raised. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Which in many cases is in a retail park that doesn't charge people to park in it, so I'll stick with punishing the PPCs for trying to get away with exorbitant charges that they can't justify, thank you very much.0 -

you should see the bnq car park in woolwich. On a quiet weekday (office hours) the car park is chuck FULL. But if you enter bnq there are just a few tradesman in there.
Why are all the cars there? Well people just drive there and then catch the train to go north of the river to their workplace because the traffic through the blackwall tunnel is crazy.
Bnq don't seem to mind, or perhaps these commuters buy a season ticket. But putting a limit of free parking is a legitimate issue (especially in densely populated areas). Otherwise people will use the car parks for parking the whole day. With a 2/3 hour limit the business can actually guarantee that perhaps 50-70% will be used by shoppers. When it's all day free parking it would likely be that only 20% of the cars are being used by legitimate customers because employees of nearby businesses will buy a sandwich and claim legitimate use of the parking for the entire day.0
