What a weird world you live in where all the supermarkets charge for parking. None of the supermarkets in my area charge or have a time limit on parking.
Maybe the store managers in my area are a bit more savvy than yours and don't get sucked in by the b****x spouted by the PPCs to justify their use.
I live in London, all supermarkets have terms in their parking facilities. In central London it's usually £1-£2 or free for 2 hours if you spend £10 or more.
On zone 2-3 it's usually £1 parking or free if you spend £5 or more for.
Zone 3+ is usually free - depending on how congested it is.0 -
Strange how a group of posters otherwise unknown to this board suddenly migrate here?
For those amongst that group that have been members of MSE for any length of time they might want to read through some of the myriad threads here on the subject - or maybe just the Newbies thread to get a feel for the reality of PPC World - rather than spout nonsense that betrays their ignorance of the subject. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Seems like you can't get your facts right either!
I could show you at least five car parks near me that are not signed up properly, including a Tesco where the entrance sign is behind the Tesco sign and impossible to see from your car!
well you have feet to get out and look or ask the security guard whether the parking is free or not.
In my local asda there is no massive signs every 5 parking bays about the cost of parking. But there are parking meters if you look around and also signs visible enough for anyone concered to find out about their parking terms.0 -

Sorry LT, but you are coming across as someone who has no idea what they are talking about. The issues being raised in the DM are actually very legitimate. How, for example, can there be a loss due to someone overstaying by 15 minutes in a free car park? How can that loss be £100, or £50 if paid within 14 days?
Or, to use your location, how can the loss to the landowner by overstaying by 15 minutes be £100, or £50 if paid within 14 days? £1 for 1 hour equates to a loss of, hmmm, let me see, 25pence.
We all agree on here that you should not park inappropriately, what we do disagree with are the 'speculative invoices' that are sent out with threats of debt collectors, CCJs and bailiffs. Under UK law, they have no title or interest in the land anyway, so how can they 'charge' you for using it? Read up on contract law and landowners rights. You will find that a landowner cannot assign certain rights to an agent.
I really recommend that you read the sticky and bring yourself up to speed with what tactics the PPCs adopt to try and fleece their victims of their hard earned cash.

Indeed, and she's liable to reimburse the land owner the loss she cost them. Since it was a free car park, that's a whopping £0 unless there's definitive proof that she denied another customer an opportunity to actually spend money. As in, there'd need to be no other spaces free in the car park.
I'd like you to make that arguemnt when god forbid one of your relatives is on their deathbed and you've received a call from another relative saying that they don't have long and you need to go and visit your relative quickly and then you spend 30 minutes driving around the block looking for parking because the bloody NHS are not enforcing their parking so people are parking there for hours on end and some are parking when they aren't even visiting the hospital!
If everybody just had to pay the extra "costs" after getting caught overstaying their parking people would just abuse the system. Heck I would just park anywhere and then when the warden catches me I'll pay the £3 for the hours parking.
Not forgetting parking enforcement is expensive. Warden has to be paid by the hour. Admin need to process all of this stuff. Company needs to make a profit because no PPC are non-profit charities AFAIK.
Also being a hospital, I am faily certain they will be in full capacity many times.
Also, the test for the PPC to prove that there was loss in income because all bays were taken is stupid. No serious person is going to drive around a 200 bay car park and check every single spot for a free bay before leaving. There might be 3 bays in the car pack which are free. But very few people are going to drive around for more than 2 minutes looing for a free bay, they'lll drive around for about 2 minutes and then leave.
The test does not apply for council parking, the council does not have to prove a loss in revenue for parking without paying bit applies for civil enforcement.0 -

You really are stupid!
And it's ARE no massive signs!
One day when you wonder out of your closed world and you get say a puncture in a free car park attached to a shopping area which takes you 5 minutes over the allowed time, I assume you will pay the fake PCN willingly as it's totally fair and above board?0 -
