Hi Stewby how have your first couple of days gone with the new way of eating? Try not to think of it as something to dread, maybe think of it as the start of the next phase in you and OH's lives together what with the new joint account and all.
You know you can do these things, you've knuckled down with the debts, a few wee stumbles here and there but you're still on the right path, so I'm sure you will do really well with the food and exercise plans. Hope this doesn't sound patronising, it's not meant to be, I just wish you all the best on your journey.

Hey stoplurking and in need of direction.

Thank you both for posting. It's not patronising at all stop lurking.
    :)

Weight loss was unsuccessful... gained a pound despite sticking within my calorie goals and walking a heap.
I am hopeful that I will have lost tomorrow. I have managed to be really good today despite having all the temptations at work and have remained within my calorie target.
Fingers crossed for a better reading.

One thing I'd say Stewby is that I find whenever I embark on a new exersize routine (and I would say walking for fitness counts) I always gain at least 1lb in the first couple of weeks - and I'm at a lower starting weight so for me its a much more significant gain %wise.

Plus all the stuff you were eating more of than you are now are still working through your system, I find that the best way to combat it is the really boring drink lots of water and ignore the numbers for a couple of weeks method.

I did see some research mentioned quite recently that said people who stand on a scale daily (not necessarily looking at the number!) actually make healthier food choices than those who don't. But I suspect that'll be more to do with anyone who stands on a scale daily caring more than those who rarely bother with scales.

    Hey scuby...

I was just away to post about that story as I read it too. That's why I have been weighing myself everyday.
On the plus side, I have come back down and am now 219lbs.
    :D

The plan is to weigh myself everyday but to only document it on my app every week... so I will officially re-weigh myself on Sunday.
    :o

Worked all day yesterday so didn't do any walking but I don't know how to count it as exercise.
I worked for 12 hours and probably spent about 7 hours of it walking or moving around but all in spits and spurts. Any ideas how to record it on the my fitnes pal app??
    :undecided

On the plus side... another three miles today!!
    :j

Moneywise... haven't spent anything today but will be a spendy day tomorrow as I need to send off a cheque.
Our £1800 went into our new joint account and today, our gas, electric and one loan left it.
We seem to be managing this whole joint account thing.

It looks like I may have about £400 to put towards the credit card debt this month. I was hoping for more but I am spending £176 on a holiday in 2016.
To explain, it is a two night stay in a cottage near our wedding venue. We are booking it to take both sets of parents to see our wedding hall. It's going to be amazing.
They are wanting a third of the cost now (hence the cheque).
    :happyhear

Hope you are all doing well. I am probably getting quite repetitive now, sorry.
    Hugs.

Not sure - I never used to record wandering around at work just had it set to active job which should take in to account exersize you can't record, the only other thing would be to possibly go back to using the pedometer (I think you tried one in the past or am I confused again?).

Personally I don't worry about moving around at work now either although I probably could just record the number of flights of stairs I climb in a day and add a fair few calories to my totals!

Glad the number is coming down now though, I weighed myself a couple of days ago and mines still going up from the change of exersize habits, lots of water and sticking at it and I'm hoping when I come around to my recording day at the weekend it'll look happier or I'll have to start reconsidering my calorie totals and go really strict for a few weeks (and I work in catering, I turn down at least 50% of the cake I'm offered as it is!).
I'd say *only* £400 is a great amount esp as you have a good reason for not paying more.

Good Evening (11 minutes to midnight).

I am so glad I don't work in catering... I have no will power at all. In awe of the fact you can say no scuby.

Today has been okay. Had some potato soup for lunch along with a sandwich then haggis, neeps and tatties for tea. Mum made it for her and dad yesterday so gave me the leftovers. Hooray.
    :D

Total calorie intake for today is: 1229.
Exercise was less so only loss of: 103 calories.
    :undecided

Weighed myself again this morning. Like I said, it's just to keep me on the straight and narrow. Actual official weigh-in is on Sunday.
Lost another pound today which takes me down to 218lbs.
    :j

This diet is also helping me with my financial goals as I am not nipping out buying treats and stuff.
Third spend-free day today. It's all going really well. Which is a pretty scary thought to be honest.

Glad the weight is gradually going the way you want it to! Fingers crossed it stays that way on Sunday.

Even better news on the no spend days.

    Calories eaten today: 1199.
    Exercise: 255 calories.
    :D

Weight stayed the same but I am trying my best so hope that I will get a good result on Sunday.
    :o

Even made sweet and sour sauce from scratch and it tasted pretty dam good. Hooray!!
    :j

Spendy day today as we needed some shopping and we sent off the cheque. Not so great but I am looking forward to April 2016.
    :)

Hope everyone else is doing okay,
    hugs.
