I was due to go back to Brunel where I did my training and degree for a service user forum, I had been excited, the feeling of being needed and useful.
However I awoke feeling lousy and really knowing that I would really struggle through the day, and that in the evening we were due to have about a dozen to supper :eek:
So I had a slow day at home, still busy, tidying, more admin type stuff. Had another call with the wellbeing coach who I have decided to pay for some sessions ... he is excellent and very interesting, so watch this space.
OH does all the cooking and made a lovely chicken fricassee and I made an apple crumble.
One very good news is that I was up for election as a Governor for Surrey and Borders NHS Trust which is the mental health trust, seven candidates and I was elected of one of two places!
:D. I was godsmacked
Lovely evening with friends, its officially a book club, we were reading The Essex Serpant but really its an eating and drinking club, everyone mucks in and helps.
I was though cream crackered at the end of it...As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Woke up really cream crackered, to piles of clearing up, and my period!
Which would have been fine if I could hibernate at home... however, I had a Christmas pressie,... matinee tickets to see Don Juan with David Tennant.
In the end we drove up, it was such a shame I was really struggling, and found the day very stressful.
We used my Picturehouse card to get lunch, which I have to say was very yummy and saved our pennies, we went back later for a cuppa before going home.
Have to say Don Juan was very very naughty for adult eyes only, very funny, and was fantastic escapism for a couple of hours, something I could go back and see again! :blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing::blushing:

Not on duty this morning :j:j:j. Lie in :j:j:j
Small cooked breakfast
Daddy's Tr@v3lz00 voucher for afternoon tea for four in the local hotel. We had invited friends, who are going through a challenging time, as what they call the sandwich generation, looking after Mum with Dementia and young children.
I was so disappointed, this old coaching inn, famously used by Lord Nelson when he would go down to Portsmouth, had a really poor chef. Despite charging £25 according to their website, they served a low quality ingredients, lacking in variety, finesse and some of it not fresh. The scones in particular were flat dry biscuit bullets, I would be embarrassed to serve them.
Then the most weird part was we were in this smallest room, beautiful decorated, furnished and well maintained. However they had a TV on the wall, on silent, but showing veterinary programmes and safari type programmes. Showing directly behind my friends heads trying to concentrate on them while watching a monkey being put to sleep was really disconcerting.
Such a shame, it was busy, but I feel only with voucher people, and as afternoon tea is my most favourite meal of the day, I had been looking forward to finding another must go back place for a special occasion... sadly not to be.
However, catching up with friends was really good.
We had use up pizza from the freezer for tea, curled up on the sofaAs a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

It was a planned at home day, I had cancelled Pilates
It was a day to crack on with my two voluntary roles admin, Christian Aid and Amateur dramatics, everything takes longer than I think!
My cousin in law rang, offering me her hall/door curtain. Really lovely, and just what we need to update our room
Dinner was fishcakes from the freezer and salad...
OH had a horticultural meeting at home, and I zoomed out of the door for a wash up meeting for the last production.
Despite being tired it was good to be social and the chairman bought me a drink :T so no personal spendsAs a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

It was relief that Mr Borrow My Doggy cancelled, as I could carry on with all admin from yesterday
Lunch out, as it was difficult to do a scrapped together lunch with a cleaner around...
I have already recorded my frustration with Barclays bank.... I came off the phone so late, that the healthy dinner was post phoned due to time factor.
Scampi, peas and chips from the freezer
OH out General election planning :eek:
So I had my crochet and watched TV, and read my new book Olive ketteridge ( a book club book read by OH but not by me). Well written but rather miserable! As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

An out and about day
Firstly to the local foodbank storage unit to collect food that was nearing the month end and other requests for the homeless night hostel, ten miles away, where my Dad lives.
They were very pleased with my delivery.
I had my car with me so no wheelchair, as I planned to park right outside the bank, disaster the road is all dug up for drainage work :eek:
Desperate for the loo, I went in search for C@stalota it was packed and the loo with a long time occupant
so I found an independent in the old butchers, it served beautiful coffee but I fear will not be there long as very few customers, with a sandwich counter, empty of contents, this high street is kept alive by the lunch time trade at midday, not one soul. I then realised there was a rival coffee shop opposite which my friend now tells me the one to go to.
So sorted Barclays, have to say, had to keep telling myself to be on best behaviour, as I had an alpha female who was not really happy to see me. "I phoned you this morning as I had no idea what you were coming into see me about" I found a missed 0345 number on my mobile... I explained mobility impaired, missed it, no message, more reasons were given to why no message, but then apparently I should "have googled the number" found out who it was and phoned back!!!!!!!!
Plus I should have gone directly into the branch without even thinking of picking up the telephone.... easier for who?
Fortunately I was heading for the pub, for lunch with one of my best mates, he treated me to lunch as we put the world to rights....
Plus I raised the subject of contributing to our holiday, he is joining us in the flat we always book, which has a second bedroom with bunk beds so its not a larger property etc. He's happy to pay his share :j:j:D:D
When I got home, I did collapse in the chair, and OH cooked tea lovely chicken casserole with meat from freezer and turkey stock from Christmas.
Despite having a sociable day, spending was limited and no person spend ( coffee from housekeeping as was on a joint mission)As a dear MSE friend says “keep plodding” or

Was due to be a Mr Borrow My Doggy Day, however the week is catching up with me and I have bit of vertigo from the massage yesterday.

So I am focusing on sorting Christian Aid and other admin, I think I had a mammoth update of this diary!
Spoke to Barclays, so OH could... it was not a fruitful conversation  so all the effort was for nothing.
Afternoon spent on first wellbeing coach session which was very helpful and interesting. Coach had me doing some practical exercises
One I found very helpful.
Instead of when I start to thinking I feel anxious, I change this wording to I am generating anxiety.
Then I was to say "I am" take a very deep breath and then a very long exhale and in the middle of this exhale say ( in your head, in public!) or outlaid "STOP"
Then acknowledge that I have spotted my negative thinking, and stopping this, by acknowledging by saying
Well done
