    Morning all

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine was busy and enjoyable.

I can report though - no personal spending :j:j

Saturday morning, I sat down and sorted both mine and households spending spreadsheets and so I feel more in control of my finances :j.
We know exactly what we need to spend in the next week or so, and I am holding tight on our pursestrings, despite a few dates in our diary as its half term week.

In the end despite having a 2 for 1 voucher for brunch at our local pub we avoided going out all day as we were tired and ate from the fridge/freezer/and store cupboard. Sausages for the third saturday running, I love the pork sausages from the butchers so I was not complaining :rotfl::rotfl:

Last night of the play and the director ought us a drink at the end, a mug and plant as a thank you, which was lovely, a great relief not an orchid as my track record with them is well.....

Yesterday we had a busy morning with church, the striking of the sat and seating for the play, I sorted the money, must admit we did have a cheeky costalota on the way from Church to Arts Centre, as it was so cold. However we have cut down these trips to rare on the go treats so I don't feel so bad.

Then out to lunch with friends we have not seen for a couple of years... we had a gift card for the restaurant so that reduced our bill.

Home to collapse and crochet in front of the tv, with a make do fridge supper.

I love Death in Paradise and Call the Midwife

Today is rest and domestic chores, speaking of which the washing machine is bleeping so need to sort....

    Hello dear friends

As predicted yesterday was a very quiet day, spent doing chores, admin and some CPD.

My Historical Royal Palaces subscription was deducted £48 which is :eek: probably is an extravagance. I do live 20 minutes from Hampton Court so do use it, but not as much as I could.

This morning plans have gone astray, at this point I was due to be at a funeral but it was over an hours trip round the M25, I didn't know the deceased, her daughter is a friend an ex colleague who I wanted to support, however my body had other ideas this morning. Fatigue levels are just yuk.

I am though rereading my Mindfulness book, this quote jumped out at me " Learning to be with my experience, even if it was painful and to inhabit my body with honesty and kindness".

I am struggling with the fact that I couldn't get out of bed and get myself to Crawley by 11am. However I am also aware, that actually I knew in my heart of hearts that perhaps saying I would go in the first place, was beyond my current capabilities.

This is the real niggle. I am struggling with committing to things in my diary, but I really want to go back to work. As a professional I am aware that I don't know whether its my current level of impairment or whether I am unconditioned from living such a sedatory lifestyle... to ponder. I also am aware that a) I didn't pace myself very well last week, b) the subject of cancer and assisted suicide last week, has affected my mental wellbeing. c) a funeral focusing on a Mum was not one I was wanting to be part of... as it is raising so many emotions within me.

On completely a different strand, my hot air /hairdryer brush has gone kaput this morning :(:(. I have very thin but plentiful hair that to look half decent I need to get body into it, I struggle with hairdryer in my good hand and hairbrush in hand that doesn't have fine motor movement. So shall I replace it... I do have a travel hairdryer.

I need to count my blessings and think about others...

An elderly family member who is having an embolism removed as I type.

My friend and her sister who are saying goodbye to their Mum.

My cleaner who is here and is telling us the latest in the journey of loosing her brother and his young family...

    PS

My darling cleaner says today is a love day so apart from bringing us portuguese custard tarts, she has broken with her usual routine and not stripped our bed as darling Gertie.. is curled up in a tight ball :rotfl::rotfl:

Just popping in to catch up, Bubbles - I do like the mindfulness quote you brought in, thats very powerful. Sounds like you still need more time before you go back to work, truly it does.

Well first of all it was another personal NSD :j:j

Both OH and I were struggling with a cold (OH) and fatigue me. So our romantic valentines meal was not as planned. However we firmly had the starters at lunchtime... the runny warm scotch eggs... all went well until the cat had a fur ball :o

OH bought me Mary Poppins as my Valentine treat, we sat and watched it. I adored this film as a child, I still have my record of the soundtrack, the precursor to the video. I sat yesterday evening and sung along to all the songs out of tune. It really cheered me.

Supper was a chicken casserole from the freezer that had not defrosted the day before, the rosemary potatoes from the M & S meal deal and the chocolates. The beef wellington and chocolate pudding have been frozen.

We are doing well making do and eating out of stores so that we focus on paying for the meals out with family and friends we cannot avoid.

We both appreciated our bed last night

PS thank you for the lovely supportive words,

Woke up still feeling like I have been run over by a freight train, so had to re-evaluate my day again.

Diary said: Messy Church (on my door step) , Tea with my friend and goddaughter ( 5 miles away) , supper with Dad ( 10 miles away).

I achieved Messy Church, as I could not hand over projector to anyone else. It was also good to get out. Fortunately I am not required for the activities bit, so i escaped for an hour to the village to sort a few chores, got bacon for tea, to use up an avocado. Sat for a cheeky coffee on costalota free on points :D The morning finishes with a sandwich lunch :T and because it was so busy, I could not graze on left over sausage rolls, great for my waistline.

I did not achieve Friends or Dad.

Hope to a quiet afternoon in front of my computer which was quietly satisfying as I am still catching up with my CPD!

Tea was pasta from stores plus the bacon.

OH was out in the evening so I caught up with my programmes on the box, bit of history with Lucy Worsley, Casualty and The Halycon.

Nearly finished a crochet cot blanket

Miss Gumdrops got me up for breakfast at 6.30am this morning, Why wasn't her Daddy up as usual... OH has a cold and is working from home.

was struggling to get back to sleep, with lots of tension in my body and my brain being bombarded by negative thoughts. Can't remember the exact word that I used for my negative feeling but I practised concentrating on my breathing on the out I said X Out and Calm in, must have worked as I went back to sleep.

OH serving coffee and porridge ... toodle pip
