Hi all, not sure if I'll be able to check in later but I have been fairly productive today. :T
I've spent about 3 hours filling in a job application this morning for a really good job. So I think the extra effort was worthwhile. *Fingers crossed* Although it is a job I have previously applied for, been interviewed for and as usual with the field of work I'm in, was told that the successful candidate was more qualified (had a Masters degree), than myself. Seeing as they even interviewed me in the first place, I'll take that to be a sign that I was even worthwhile interviewing as the job role is exceptionally competitive amongst applicants. I have a lot of experience, but the age old further qualifications malarky is infuriating! I know that sometimes persistence (and experience) does win on occasion! I'm treating this as a case of falling off of my board (being knocked back the first time), paddling back out (applying again- it's been just over a year), and jumping back on (ready to take on that wave- good or bad!) Writing out various applications is definitely improving my writing skills and self-analysis. So silver linings an' all!
I've been ticking things off of my bits and bobs list throughout the day today... I really do love lists! Does anyone else?
This evening my oh is house sitting (we do like a good house sit), and are going to have a few friends round for dinner, so I imagine I will be pretty preoccupied this evening for a check-in. I do really need to do a food shop, whether this will happen today or tomorrow I haven't decided yet. So I cannae confirm any figures!
Annnnywho, hope you are all enjoying your weekend's, whatever you are up to! Catch you tomorrow!

Have finally say down and worked out my budgets and balances for the month...
I know the bulk buy is usually out BUT... the tuna that I buy was on offer and I had run low on other tinned fish, mixed nuts, and things like deodorant. Also needed things like stamps and envelopes... I had bought this stuff end of July - a bit cheeky as it saves me a spend day haha - but what I have done is totalled it all up and divided by 4 weeks...
Gulp = £58.00 / 4 = £14.50
Going through my receipts I'd spent some on foods which will do me the next 2 weeks in the fridge/freezer (soya burgers, chicken, turkey bacon, cottage cheese etc) as well...
£11.60 / 2 = £5.80 off weeks 1 and 2
Week 1: £30 - £14.50 - £5.80 - £5.60 (spent yesterday) = £4.10 remaining
Week 2: £30 - £14.50 - £5.80 = £9.70 remaining
Week 3: £30 - £14.50 = £15.50 remaining
Week 4: £30 - £14.50 = £15.50 remaining
Petrol: £80.00 remaining
Emergency Reserve: £30.00 (Lottery win + Spare cash)
All cash sorted into envelopes.
Phew - sorry - I know that's about as interesting as watching paint dry - but I needed it somewhere written down to make me accountable. Store cupboard now full of essentials, fridge and freezer stocked.
£672.00 paid off debt yesterday plus an extra £19.18 off my card - am now totally back on my planned target. Whoop!!!
So - not masses of breathing space throughout August, but at least I know where I am with spending down to the last 1p!!! Just the way I like it

Excellent effort LoveaDove with the job application. I completely agree with your logic, if they interviewed you before, you must have been high on their list of ideal candidates, so its definitely worth applying again. Good luck
Btw I love lists, I have them for everything and write at least one a day, to make sure I don't forget anything.
abundant I love the detail in your planning. Very inspirational, I might have to give the weekly budget a go.
Today is going to be a SFD, I am adamant. I am bored out of my mind and would love to go shopping, even though the only thing we need is a new dog bed. Instead I am staying in and have listed 3 items on eB4y todayI have also been to the gym for a class (my exercise session for the day) and have walked the dogs for an hour and twenty minutes.
I am feeling knackered today, so I am going to have the afternoon with my feet up, which I haven't done for ages(and watch loads of tv!!!!)

loveadove - I love a list too, well done on spending 3 hours on an application, hope you get to interview again.
I have my first SFD under my belt today, we have got quite a few jobs done at home and the kids have had a stall at the garden gate, they made almost £5 selling loom bands and some toys, they are very pleased.
I have run and cycled today and will walk the dog after tea, it won't be a long walk though just a little pootle with the kids. I am feeling quite pleased with myself overall.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I'm having a lazy day - woke at 5, had a bath at 6 but very creaky (esp knees) so dozed and read most of the morning. No painkillers in the house so going to go very gently - ignoring the slight but constant ache in my hip seems to have worked, feeling mobile now.
NSD. Got told off by DS1 - he phoned to say he had bought a sander (Ald8 had them reduced to £8.99). Apparently I was supposed to phone him if I found one - vaguely remember being distracted by him saying phone or text - with what I ask myself) Anyway had already used mum's phone to make 2 calls yesterday including one from the builder returning my call which was to try to get the tv/computer repair guy's number for DS1. Ah, he'll get over it.
I too love lists but am currently doing a list cull - drowning in them. I am still working my way through the worst of the 'found' notebooks and paper (not wasting anything and using it all up) but longing to be able to start a 'proper' one. My accounts book is the worst (think I reported previously on the 'spiral bound' which was so bent the pages wouldn't turn - finally finished that one last month). Accounts book was an old hb cloth bound rescued from the bin at my old place of work - office was closing and individual members/ small groups of staff disappeared as they were relocated to new positions/ other buildings. mostly they just dumped the contents of their desks by the wastebins and i felt compelled to rescue as much as possible - still have a drawer full of biros to work through and it's 8/9 years ago.
Sorry I'm rambling. Old puddytat sat on the accounts book a few weeks before she died and when she moved she had left a little accident behind. I rubbed it with tissue but it was in the grain of the cloth so I ripped the front off the book. Normally I keep bills not covered by standing orders and most recent bank and credit card statements inside the covers and useful (financial contact details on the last few pages). These all keep sliding out and without the front cover the pages are dog-eared, water splashed (also using up all the boy's old felt tips) and smudged.
I am choosing to see this as a metaphor for my current financial state. I am making economies and using what I have. When I am debt free I will use the beautiful new owl book (bought in a moment of weakness last Summer). I have since given up the puzzle book that necessitated a monthly bus trip 8 miles each way which meant I had to go into the shop of temptation.
Today I am grateful for my bed, for the wonderful resource that this Forum is (made my way back to one of the challenges I looked at earlier in the year and scrolled down then hopped through links to various recipes - had to stop as it was making my stomach rumble) and for my sons (even though they drive me up the wall). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
£5 spend today, completely ruining my first potential NSD! So annoyed with myself. DS asked for money to get sausage rolls from the local bakery for lunch because the bread was frozen, completely without thinking I just handed over £5!
Made £23 selling some DVD's yesterday, we never watch them so I took them in to town and sold them, it got me some cheap trainers (desperately needed or would be exercising in sandals!) and the rest went as extra debt payments.
Loving the idea of adding what I am grateful for: today I am grateful for the roof over my head, my beautiful kids always making me smile and for being able to sit round in my PJ's watching movies!Highest debt: £25,702.08(estimated) DFD 29th August 2018 Paid £35.25

Yet another one who loves a list, Loveadove! Good luck with application.
Have today clocked first SFD, and have listed 3 items on the auction site but suspect the rest of decluttering will be headed for CS. Took DS's on bike ride to library yesterday, 5 miles round trip which took about 40 mins in total, then did a 30 min run this morning - sadly my exercise app paused itself after 10 mins so no idea how far I went ! But have at least got two days under my belt.
Still thinking about my legacy and the PIO challenge though. Love the gratitude list as well so may pinch that to add onto my next check in....#21 Save £12k in 2025 £16977.35/£20000

Hi all
I thought when I started my debt journey that I had ebayed or sold everything that wasn't nailed down but it is funny how it gathers up again. Today I sold 15 items on either Music magpie or We buy books - so hopefully if they are happy with them I will have made £23:D
