Good morning.
Today is a spendy day. To celebrate my mums and (a different) cousin's birthdays, we are having an afternoon tea for the ladies in the family.
The men of the family are heading to a local beer festival which I think the ladies might be heading to after the tea party.
But, I have money saved for this. So budget not touched!!
:j
Drove my parents up to see their friends last night with OH. Took Dad's car so no fuel costs for me, got treated to a chipper so no food used in the house and we had a great social evening.
Tomorrow is baking day. We're going to make a swiss roll and maybe some scones. Not quite up to mary berry's standards but hopefully they will be edible.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. It is warm and dry here just now but apparently "Bertha" is on her way.
Hugs to everyone.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Hello everyone,
Hope you're having nice weekends - tea sounds lovely Stewby!
Well done for everyone spending with Morries vouchers - lots of savings done!
CEW - Debt and mortgage free is fab, it's so inspiring to hear!
Mothernerd - craft plans for (future) grandkids sound so lovely, it will be wonderful for them to have such personal unique things. Hope pain isn't too bad today.
Today is a spend day, OH has gone to B&Q to get fixings to put mirrors up in bathroom - not sure how much yet, so will add it tomorrow. We are off to see an outdoor Shakespeare play later - looking anxiously at the weather, we've had some heavy showers here today! Bought the tickets ages ago, so no new spends and we are taking a picnic so quite MSE.
Have a lovely weekend all xxMortgage December 2023: TBC

MagicCat - hope the weather holds up.
Tiptoes - good luck with the training.
I have been blackberry picking again today, they are earlier than normal here due to the sunshine, but they are so sweet and massive.
I got the kids their school shoes and they came in £7 under budget, DD hates hers as they are 'too girly', the ones she wanted were really ugly and the soles didn't look like they would hold up to a year of school.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I'll be Leonardo!!!= let's do it! I honestly can't imagine us not having this group to share our journey with and learn from everyone and not feel alone in this debt slaying struggle.
Feeling good here. We just made an extra mid month payment to one of the CC's to stop us spending the money and without realising it took is UNDER £10,000 for our debts (not incl the car loan) :T
This is a real boost, and comes exactly a year since we started all this. It means we have paid off over £15,000 in 12 months (even with a good few months off when Dad was ill etc) We still have a long way to go, as we have £10,000 of 'nonsense' debt and £9,300 owed on the car, but it's all interest free and if all goes to plan it all should be paid off in 10 months time.. Yay!
Also feeling good as I did the bike and run today. Not 35k as planned on the bike, but 21k and then 5k run. And, it was.... ok... so that was also a boost for me! It's really only a month to the dualthlon as I am going away with my mum for a week in early Sept as she wants a holiday so I won't be able to train properly then..
Right, going to knock together a salad for tea then enjoy a walk and a film night with DH.

Can I be the little turtle from Finding Nemo who rides the EAC and says 'duuuuude' a lot? Please?!
Today I am grateful that dd has made so much progress in the last 18 months that walking to and from the library is easy peasy and she bounces along, that we sent off the books/cds/dvds to webuyb00ks today, that my washing dried, that I had a lovely chat with my mum, that my workout had burpees, weighted pistol squats and dive bombers in it!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Yay let's be ninja turtles Would anyone be interested in taking it in turns to do a month each? I'm sure between us we could come up with some pretty good challenges
Today was an unexpected SFDI went out, ate out bad had a takeaway (illegal, I know!) and no one would let me pay for anything
