I am tempted to follow your PIO lead and give blood too. Does anyone know how you find out where to give it?
Tiptoes just get onto https://www.blood.co.uk - pop in your postcode and it'll tell you where and when sessions are held near you. If you register online you can book an appointment on the website, something I'd recommend as I have seen walk-in appointments being turned away in the past as they're fully booked. Not sure if that's still the case but the last thing you want is to gear yourself up only to be turned away.
It's not as bad as you may imagine giving blood, the staff are so good at what they do it's more uncomfortable than painful - the finger !!!!! test for anaemia is the worst bit for me!! AND you get tea and biccies at the end, always a bonus in my eyes! Good luck, and you can be MagicCat's and L_D's PIO at the same time!

Evening. Spend-free day number one today!!

A bit embarassing that is has taken 7 days to get it but it's just poor preperation. Will do better next time.
Watching the Great British Bake Off before work and OH and I are now planning to make a swiss roll. The good thing about this is that I know that we have all the ingredients in the cupboard so it won't require any money.
I highly recommend going to bereavement counselling despite how long ago the death was. If you feel that you are not your normal self then you are probably still grieving. To be honest Calling, you have had the most horrific time and even just speaking it through to someone might help.
Hugs.
Erm... away to work now so will see you all later.

Quick check-in.
Car has been acquired, and cheaper than advertised with some haggling! Insurance worked out £20 cheaper than I had budgeted for, so that money can make up for the hpi check. Feel quite attached to my little old rust bucket, but I finally had to accept that she was becoming dangerous to drive. I may take her on a slow, last little drive to the seaside before I send her off to car recycling heaven.
mothernerd - Love your eco-therapy! Nature is amazing
MagicCat- Super duper news on your blood donation! What a star!
Tiptoes- Great stuff with booking your blood donation appointment so quickly!
PheoniX- Glad I could be of assistance! I received a mug with that quote on it a few months ago for my Birthday and read the statement every morning when I'm having a cuppa. Great start to the day! (The mug is from Wilk0s)
apple muncher- Glad Dd's results were ok!
Feeling incredibly guilty for such a HUGE spendy day and lack of any real exercise so far this month. I've taking a friend's doggy for a walk everyday but he's so tiny we're only out for about 15-20 minutes and walking a very slow pace! So can't really count it seeing as physically I am fairly healthy...apparently just lazy. Someone give me a kick up the bum please?!:coffee:

Just a quick check in to say I lost a SFD for the grand total of £2 but never mind I'm still on 5/12 which isn't too bad.
Been missing a bit lately as trying to sort out my work situation and looking after 2 extra dogs making 7 dogs in total has taken up a lot of my time. Visiting dogs went home this morning at 3am  so been up since then as I couldn't get back to sleep (sisters flight was delayed and she had to drive past our house to get home so it was more logical to pick them up on the way rather than make a separate 120 mile round trip to collect them). I'm a nice sister :rotfl:
Off to bed now as really tired but will update with totals tomorrow.

Well done everybody.
I also think it is never too late to go for grief counselling. I went last year and my brother died 7 years ago. Just felt that as my mother was in such a state and I ended up doing all the practical stuff (including travelling to the other end of the country and staying in his house for a week to clear it and find a buyer) that I never really got a chance to grieve at the time.
I have had counselling at various times for various issues (all those stress factor things, my life runs at an average 3.5) including (belatedly) for an accident DS3 and I were involved in when he was 6 months old.
Quiet day today - have managed to move a few things and picked all the remaining bits up off the floor in here (had tidied but then used a long handled brush to get all the bits out from under the bed - screws, pins, more bits of paper). Still not sorted it all but it's all together in one small box. Did manage to file some old tax returns and receipts that have come adrift - or were so old they were hiding at the back of a wardrobe when I filed everything else.
Also found some walking maps - not sure what to do with them. If I sell them it feels like I am giving up hope of ever being able to do proper walking again but at the moment looking at them is a bit like picking at a sore. Might pack them away, then when the move is accomplished and I know more about any treatment/ operation I can think more clearly. Or is it better to make a few pounds now?
Mrs builder phoned (they were tracking down a phone number for me). Explained the situation and said I was going to need their help. They are busy at the moment but are going to come round some time in the next 2 weeks to discuss what needs doing - I have said I don't mind if they do 2 hours or the odd half day in between doing other jobs.
So progress, slow and a bit ramshackle but feel that I am going forward.
Today I am grateful for bulk cooking - had two lovely meals from the freezer, being able to move (however slowly and cautiously) and tradespeople who are flexible and helpful. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Congrats on donating your first pint MagicCat!! Hope it's the first of many. I had intended to go yesterday or tonight but I ended up having to take strong painkillers due to a shoulder injury which I think would stop me from donating so my plan is now Tues or Wed next week after work.
No SFD today but I did plan ahead and group my spending together. I've got the Sun voucher for Morries so I'll be heading there after work tomorrow. Did manage to fit in over 30 mins of walking, I really appreciate how close to the beach I live on nice evenings like this.
