    Hey gang

Back home after reading your posts over a cuppa in town..

MagicCat Sorry to hear of your loss, sending big hugs your way.. :(

Stewby, Kat, Calling, Apple Muncher I too am an unsociable butterfly! Happy in my own company but wouldnt be without my small circle of loyal friends who are like family

Mothernerd oh no sorry to hear of your arthritis :( but like many have said, after all this time of suffering, you finally know the cause of your pain and immobility and can get the right treatment from the experts now..

Crazy_lady I liked your inspirational post :A hope all goes well with your hospital admission and recovery..

Tiptoes Hope your counselling session has helped you understand the way youre feeling..hugs

Fmess Home renovations are costly but are an essential investment, well done for paying for it and not adding to the debt! I unfortunately relied on my overdraft too heavily during my renovations and it will take 2 pay days to get on the straight and narrow :( At least the things that desparately needed doing got done and the house no longer looks shameful ;)

Thankyou Apple Muncher! SFD no 4 in the bag despite purchasing a red sticker sandwich and bag of fruit for 88p! :D I ate quite a big lunch at home this afternoon and will nibble on these snacks in a mo :p

    Nighty night folks!

Well today turned into a nsd, bit gutted as had bought ticket to see a band £22.50 but was up last night with backache so decided that 3hrs standing would tempt fate. Saved money on fuel and drinks anyway.

Tiptoes glad your sounding bit brighter. Wish I had seen a counsellor as really just had grief compounded with latest family member passing away. Still weepy and not my usual self.

Fmess Home renovations are essential. The difference oak internal doors have made to mine is massive. So posh and makes house more sellable if ever needed.

Stewby next month, changing to your methods as fed up of yoyoing of credit cards.

Hugs to everyone that needs them esp Mothernerd. Crazy lady good luck with your treatment.

Hugs to everyone having a difficult time right now x

Had a bit of a frustrating day... My direct debit for my debt payments *still* hadn't gone out (usually goes on 01st) and so I rang my DMP people and there'd been a mix up...

As it turns out - I was going to run short this month as I was meant to go away this weekend and just wasn't sure how I was going to manage... Anyway - instead of my last debt payment in Oct being less - I was able to pay less this month - leaving just two more payments of £675 left + whatever is on my CC. All worked out for the best in the end.

Feeling tired and it's only mid week... and, only 1 SFD and 0 gym sessions!!! I need to get a kick start from somewhere!!!

    Night all x

    Hello everyone!

crazy_lady just wow. I have seen people move out of rented places and into rooms in other peoples houses for a while, but to bunk up with your daughter and rent out your bedroom... That takes some guts. Especially bringing these people into your own home for such a brief amount of time. Well done DD for having the patience to work with you on it too. Obviously realises it benefits her in the long run too!

Everyone else, struggling, sad & down... think the weather and it being the last challenge our lovely Kat is presenting is bringing us all down a bit. I have noticed myself that I am down. More pain, more tired. Everything contributes. So today I pushed my hardest at work, avoided certain muscle relaxants which send me high during stressful work hours and to sleep as soon as I get home, wrote a list of things to do once I got here, & am sticking to it!

SFD #4 caught. Think I should make the target with ease this month as I have condensed so many things into the 2 spend days I have had thus far & am keeping my purse strings tighter than tight! Also got in 2 lots of 30 minutes exercise today around work :)

Yesterday I had to feed a large extra mouth. It wasn't planned or budgeted for and frankly I could have done without it. I adapted one of the meals planned for this week to include that person, and stole a recipe from another day so we ended up with minted chicken kebabs, with courgette, onion, tomatoes, mushrooms, red, yellow & green peppers. Oven chips, onion rings (from the freezer) & piadina. I mixed up dough for the first time in donkeys years (so cheap!) & made these little flatbreads, halfway between pitta and tortilla. Very good, very filling! I did have to use all of a pack of chicken designated for 2 nights meals though :(. So to the drawing board for tomorrow. A lemon, basil & creme fraiche 'sauce' over pasta spirals and tuna. Some mixed peppers thrown in for colour. Not too bad and nothing spent.

Tonights dinner also being mainly pasta, and having leftovers for my lunch at work the next 2 days means a pastatastic few days but I care not. Off to finish off my list, and create a meal-plan/shopping list for next week.

    Night all :)

    Congratulations crazylady.

    A NSD for me.

I am being kind to my joint (really sorry for all the bad things I said now that I have seen what a mess it is - the poor leg was trying it's best). Thought I was having a lazy day watching funny bits on u-tube (not cats but everyone from Joyce Grenfell to Frankie Boyle). However arthritis book two is very positive on laughter as a tool for stress relief (stress contributes to arthritis, arthritis causes stress) and pain relief and I do feel much better.

Didn't like book 2 at first - it spent several chapters telling me all the horrendous things I might get in addition/ as a result of having arthritis/ side effects of medication. Thinking positively, apart from the hip joint, my bones looked strong and healthy.

DS1 phoned up this morning to talk about moving me downstairs as soon as practical, worried about me falling if my hip suddenly 'goes'. Nearly got into a row with me trying to explain that it wasn't like that and him saying it was. DS3 refused to let DS2 speak to me last night, said I couldn't come downstairs (but didn't explain). I need to get back to him otherwise he will think he is being left out (poor middle child).

Other positive news, DS3 has received some commission money and has paid me 3 weeks advance rent so I have made a cc payment and finally got to adjust my signature. After having to put half the water rates and DS2's Council Tax on the cc in June and extra diy expenditure last month my debt is finally moving downwards again. Less than £2 in the signature but the gap between signature and reality was bad (just left the signature until I sorted it all). More juggling to come but so glad to have fixed that bit.

Other than that eating from the fridge and just got a couple of things out of the freezer to defrost. Hope to do more tidying tomorrow - still have paperwork to sort if I want to stay on the bed.

crazylady - What an absolutely inspiring post, thank you so much for sharing! It is incredible what you have sacrificed to battle the debt monster- a huge well done!

Kat- May be I *should* play the American English card with my unique spellings...do you think I should put on an American accent for the (unlikely but potential) interview? Assuming I'm of course not interviewed by the same person as before!

Tiptoes & mothernerd - glad to hear that you both are feeling more positive today! :)

Calling - there is no time scale for seeing a counsellor, there is a wealth of support through cruse.org.uk (Free), local hospices or signposting from your gp to local services. Cruse offer email, phone and face-to-face support. x

Stewby- High 5 for the Christmas organisation!! :T (as this is not physically possible I shall high 5 myself) :rotfl:

    Sooooo regarding finances...

I had a spend day today...on an HPI check for a car I am getting tomorrow to replace my old faithful (but useless) rust bucket, whose mot is about to expire and is on the brink of literally everything falling off of her! I am living on such a tight shoe string as it is, my car has been budgeted for though and I know will be required for whatever job role I end up with next. All job apps have required me to have a car so far. The pay in my local town is dire so I need to keep my job reach further but accessible. Oh dear, poor justifications for such a big spend tomorrow... :)

Right too much babbling! Hope you all have a splendid eve! Catch you all tomorrow! :heartsmil

    Morning,

Just popping on as the BBC website says The Sun has a £5 free fruit and veg offer for Morrisons. I'm assuming it's today's Sun. If it's the same as last time, you don't have to buy anything else, just hand over the voucher and get £5 of fresh fruit and veg for free :)

    Hello lovely people,

Tiptoes - volume down or not you are keeping going, that's what matters! Take care of yourself - glad to hear you're feeling a bit better yesterday.

Fmess - I understand where you're coming from on the 'debt not increasing' thing! I'm really hoping the car won't need too much work for the MOT, but even if it does I've got some money saved, so it won't be as much on the credit card as it would have been in the past! And thanks for the update on the voucher :) - am I right in thinking it has to be spent by Sunday?

Calling14 - hugs, give yourself time - but might also be worth looking into counselling if you think it would help, Cruse bereavement can be really helpful if you have them in your area, and the website and helpline is good too. Take care of yourself.

Nothing very exciting from me - a SFD yesterday and should be today too, seen to be managing better than last month! My mum has gone up to her sister's and is planning the funeral, they have asked me to do a reading which is really nice.

Taking a late lunchbreak to give blood. Really quite nervious about it, hoping will not do anything embarassing like pass out!
