hehehe, when I have DD1 on young Skint duty and not having to stop for school runs or leave the house or deal with the outside world, I can have a productive day........sometimes
lots more washing outside....slight hitch, DD2 Uni cheapy whirligig snapped under the strain.......managed to dig a hefty parasol base out of the shed, slap it on the patio with some bricks and stone filled bag for the gazebo, then straightened the broken pole back into a circular shape (hammer and pliers were my tools of choice) managed to stuff it in (with DD1 help as it was still completely laden with washing!)
Right time to peg some more washing out and turn the machine over.....back soonThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -

Many thanks for all the tips on changing duvet covers. :A
I've copied'n'pasted them all onto a document and will experiment this weekend to see what works for me. (No, you can't come and watch!):rotfl:
Normally Mr LW and I do it together (change the duvet cover that is - get your minds out of the gutter!!:D) but he's going to be out of commission for this for a while, and I have very limited movement in my back, shoulders and wrists.
I'll see if I can scare up enough flat sheets to put one under the duvet as well as using one in place of the fitted sheet; I'm pretty certain we have 2.:o I certainly don't want to buy extra bedlinen for something that's only going to be temporary, but I'm sure we can get round it.:o
It's thinking of all the little jobs he does around here that, were I able-bodied, I would do as part of the housework, and working out ways of doing them without hurting myself that's proving a bit of a challenge; I feel much more prepared for dealing with it all if I have a proper plan in place.;)
Thankfully, the dog we have staying at the time is one of the easiest to look after.:TIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

It sounds more complicated than it is or i have made it sound complicated with how i described it but very easy realy.
That's exactly how I do it. I'm glad you explained as I was trying to work out how to explain. The only thing I do slightly differently is that once I have a hold of the duvet I stand on the bed or the sofa so I'm a bit higher and shake it down. Then tuck the other corners in like you do.£279/£2016 (13.8%)

Most of those little jobs are not important, they can wait until Mr Wolf is beck up and running.. you need to decide what you cannot live without doing.. pot washing for example .. you can't leave it but window washing and shower scrubbing and skirting scrubbing ad even dragon dusting can wait.
I am sure Mr Wolf's friend who comes visit will help you, he sounds like a very good friend to you both.. Mr Wolf could ask him in advance to come help... now.. how are you going to manage with dressing and showering? do you need a plan for that?
Physio apt done for Moomin.. dropped off her new shoes for the raise fixing.
went to Tesco on the way home and got party bits for Squeaks birthday party.. I still need loads of stuff but the rest can wait.. I was not impressed with taking 5 girls shopping! I got Moomin sorted for school with bags and pencil case etc.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Kazw thankyou hun, yes I know I have you as back-up if I need you; it's reassuring just to know there's the option. xMost of those little jobs are not important, they can wait until Mr Wolf is beck up and running.. you need to decide what you cannot live without doing.. pot washing for example .. you can't leave it but window washing and shower scrubbing and skirting scrubbing ad even dragon dusting can wait.

Dressing and bathing we have covered, I'm pleased to say.:T I have my bath-lift - which Mr LW can also use when he comes home - and of course while he's at home recovering, there won't be the scratting about in the mornings to get ready, so we can take our time.:o
I've got a couple of kaftans I can scrabble in and out of unaided; and as luck would have it, I didn't chuck out my ancient, worn-out-elastic bras - I found them lurking in the back of the drawer yesterday; I tried last night, and can, if I'm very careful and take my time, put one on back-to-front, twizzle it round and put the straps up afterwards. It's not brilliant, but it's better than "letting it all hang out".:D
Mr LW's pal would of course help, but he works full time and has lately had to commute to Kent on several days for his work, so I'm not too keen to put on him too much.
Next question: Ironing.
We iron very little in this household, but some items simply must be done. Now, we have a wee travel iron that's light enough for me to use, but I can't lift the ironing board. If I really need to iron something, I'm thinking to put the leaf up on the kitchen table and put a blanket with a teacloth over it to act as a "pad" and iron on that. Will that work, you you think, folks?
The most likely thing I'll need to iron will be hankies. Mr LW does like his hankies ironed, and that's a job I need to forestall him trying to do himself before he's fit to.;)If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
