Busy day yesterday
pressure washer had a good work out cleaning up mess from Cowboy Roofers .....all downstairs windows cleaned on outside, all rendered walls cleaned (and de-greened at the same time) block paving and paving slabs all cleaned, car given a quick once over to remove the worst, downpipes, porch, garage door and all lower soffits and fascias blasted too.
Blasted windows on one of log cabins and gunky gloop that weeds have rooted in away from the door, blasted one side of dismantled shed to clear spiders, webs and green moldy bits ready to creosote at some point.
Put up Za - geeeee- bow as DS calls it to make an uber playhouse for DD4 and DS to play in yesterday afternoon just outside the utility room so I could crack on........WM had 8 cycles through it yesterday before rain stopped play, all maidens loaded in LR so I could put Gazebo up inside Utility in half height mode and stick dehumidifier on (to make sure it was thoroughly dry in case I didn't get an opportunity of good drying weather today)
Stairs, hallway, kitchen and LR floor hoovered and spot v@xed a cup of tea which was used to decorate my freshly hoovered CREAM LR carpet.
Hoovered my room (well half of it....the other half has contents of LR cupboards that the EX was going to disassemble and re-locate for me a few weeks back) including my mattress, DD4 travelcot and mattress, behind my bedside cabinets, and cobwebs from coving, skirting and innards of double glazed windows. my ensuite shower scrubbed and then sprayed with show£r Sh!ine
and DS went to hospital opticians too........
Today started early DS with night terrors at 4, got him back to sleep at 5 when DD4 took over ....DW emptied and set on wash cycle, all done and sparkly, DD3 has now reloaded DW and set it off with all the leftovers....kitchen straightened out again after DD1 made homemade cinnamon pretzels last night, sorted all my coupons into in date and useful ones into a small lidded plastic container and binned the rest.....hopefully I can remember to pop the coupon tub in with my recycled carriers when I go to shops and always be prepared. Microwave cleaned, plants watered. Downstairs loo scrubbed, floor S&S, soda crystals poked down overflow and sink trap. All towels folded Anthea style and stacked neatly in cupboard.
Caught DD4 trying to flush a pair of DD3 shorts in my ensuite toilet, after hearing the toilet flush once already while folding towels on my bed.....so I have had all the manhole covers up this morning to check for any other items potentially causing a blockage.....got DD3 to fill all upstairs water items and flush simultaneously while I stood guard with a fishing net .thankfully the last flush was just a few baby wipes. pressure washer brought out into service again to flush around and then chucked some bleach around for good measure, all manholes back in place.......a quick change of clothes, a brew and some time quietly on Fred and DD4 has now decided it is a good time to sleep and DS is now awake and full of the joys of Spring......
Is it bedtime for me yet???????? :rotfl:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Morning Flyladies
Thankyou Dusty for the recc. on fitted sheets, I'll have a looksie later. Like LW I am an expert on hospital corners but DH is SUCH a wriggle during the night, I need the extra security of elastic to keep it all in place. As for fitting a duvet cover singlehandedly, I spread the duvet over the bed but with the top at the foot of the bed and the two top corners folded in towards the centre -- imagine you're making a paper aeroplaneI then take the inside-out cover, put my hands inside to the top corners and grab the two turned-in duvet corners. Then I shake-shake-shake to turn the cover rightside-out over the duvet; I would imagine you could achieve a similar result with pegs on the corners but IMO they'd have to be good, strong pegs. Much like Pigpen, I might be tempted to use a top sheet in the short term until Mr LW is back to full fitness.
I have a biggish to-do for today, I need to go to Ald!, drop off some chazzer stuff with MIL, get t'other hamster booked into the pet shop as DH's ex is now refusing to take DSD's while we're away on hols  fill my car up, sort work schedule for the rest of the week, clean out the fridge, do some laundry, book the boiler service, clean the bathroom and vacuum the bedrooms. I think I might be ready for a nap by lunchtime
Time to get up0 -
SK5 blimey that is a list and a half, you take it easy........
Fizz if I was nearer I would have the hammies for your hols, I feel for you, there is nothing like making arrangements then 'ex's' refusing to carry out their part in it all and causing extra stress..
OH is driving me mad, so I have gone to work and taken a bar of choccie with me, to calm me!! He is having his motorbike serviced today, he arrange it weeks ago, but now cannot find the service book etc for it.............and seems to think in my 'flylady' blizt (you and your mates on line in THAT thread, have cleared it up :rotfl:) I have done some thing with it...........I've not seen it, I have no idea where it is, and why do you leave it to the last minute to look for some thing you knew a week or so ago you would need? If you tidied up some of your [STRIKE]junk[/STRIKE], paperwork, then you would find these things easily..........and breath.......................
So office type stuff being done.
Ironing
Afternoon, borrow ladder from next door, then cut down branches from over hanging trees, from neighbours garden at the bottom.......nothing is growing this year, as there is no true light / sunlight................Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Wow Skint! All that and manhole covers? *respect*
Two phone calls last night, one from someone I've never met before and one from nightmare lodger from two years ago wanting two nights accommodation. Very strange co-incidence. Now that Mr Nifter has gone, I can take them both, so that's sorted.
Superking remade this morning with OH's help and the smaller dy$son cracked out to zip around both letting rooms. One hugh WM load out and yesterday's taken in and folded. I hurt my back on Friday and that's put a stop on being super-busy but it's all falling into place with OH's help.Better is good enough.0 -

Kaz, you really are a superstar :A we're used to his ex playing at silly beggars, at least this time she has given enough notice that we can arrange an alternative, when we went to Barcelona at Easter she changed her mind about having them the day we were leaving and we had to leave the poor things home alone for 5 days; SIL did pop in a couple of times to top up water and food but she just doesn't have space for the two huge cages. DSD has been informed that she will have to work off some of her "debt" (same as DS1), much to her annoyance; funnily enough she has no problem spending £70 on having her hair done but contributing to the wellbeing of her own pet?! Forget it
Boiler service has been booked in for Friday, bathroom has been scrubbed, moustache has been epilated (new toy for my birthday, I was pooping myself, it wasn't as painful as I had anticipated), DH chatted with, off out now and will be back to tackle some more of my list in a bit xx

Flat battery in my car, all my own fault, I didn't close the boot properly on Friday and the interior light has drained it. Thankfully my breakdown policy has home start and they should be here in about half an hour. What larks, Pip!0

Tried to post yesterday from the train but Chiltern WiFi was playing up. Had a lovely day at the zoo with DD and DGS1+2, then brought the boys back with us.
Called in at SW this a.m. and DH and I have each lost 1.5 LB despite fish and chips yesterdayLeft DH there to man the bookstall while I took the boys to the park. Have made up lunch and we are going out on the steam trains now.
WM x1 is on line.
Well done Skinty!
