It's profoundly shocking when someone young is unexpectedly taken, Mrs MP, and I am so sorry about your DS2's favourite teacher. I couldn't just read and run but I honestly am lost for words, particularly as he had a family. Terribly, terribly sad.
    Better is good enough.

    Morning all
So sorry for your family/school community on the shocking loss MrsMP.
Well done on the 1.5lb loss Ionafan, JTTOU and Greent.
You are getting lots of good advice LW and can totally understand your desire to tackle those jobs that MrLW might be tempted by, the bungy cords seem like the best plan!
    Here are my lists, if it's missing it doesn't need doing or there is no chance I can tackle it this week;
Monday Mayhem - Living Room, Hall and Stairs
[STRIKE]Open those windows/doors and let in the summer sunshine...
Vacuum through the living room, hall and stairs
    Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
    Clean the tv screen
Clear the mantel and only put back the items which are supposed to be there..
    Wipe and water plants[/STRIKE]

Tuesday trauma - Kitchen and Dining Room
    [STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
    Sweep and mop floors
Clean the oven.. now you can't moan it hasn't been on for AGES!!
Wipe dining table.. (clean table cloth if necessary)
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc
Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..
Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
Have a film fest.. with popcorn and pop!!
Empty the bin.. wash it out.. and make it smell SWEET[/STRIKE]
Run the WM through 'clean cycle'.. hottish wash with a splosh of vinegar, soda crystals bleach.. whatever you fancy just clear those pipes of gunge!

Mrs MP.. that is an awful thing to happen.. one of my sisters teachers died of a brain haemorrhage whilst out shopping on the avenue in front of some of the pupils and parents from the school .. it is always ac shock to lose someone young but to be so suddenly is just tragic.. even worse when they have small children. My sisters teacher had a boy of about 10. :( Schools usually deal very well with such events ((hugs)) for all concerned.

My girls are away again at 11am.. I need to nip to the shop for ibuprofen for Moomin and package up their bedding ready to go.

I am focusing on knitting (11/37 sections done), and digging out the kitchen today.. I have 4 days before Squeaks party and I want an empty downstairs.. it will be a bit of a challenge!!

  • How sad Mrs M-P - hope DS is OK.

    Update for June July Challenge!!!
Have lost 12lbs in total since beginning of June
Have today managed to sort and throw from all boxes/files etc in our current cupboard/ re-sort some boxes to our filed cupboard and put all the remaining paperwork into one biggish box - but not nearly so ginormous as it was a the beginning of June!!! It is approximately half the size.
So declaring June July challenge a success!

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

    Are you OK Natty?

you could get some of those bungee cords and strap him to his chair?! He will be fine very soon :)
The thought did occur to me!:D He doesn't ever get ill. Only time in the 12 years we've been together was 1 week when he had a bad virus, and he was going off his head by the end of it; he has no understanding of limiting himself til he's properly fit, as soon as he feels remotely capable, he'll be up and doing.
Re hankies, you blow your snot into a piece of material. Un-ironed material will not reject your snot. One's 'blowing snot out of nose' experience is not enhanced by flat material.
:D I know, but they sit better in the drawer if they're ironed.:D And I just know he'll try to do them, as well as my kaftans, if I don't.:o

No matter - the reassurance that the towel (better idea than a blanket - thanks for that Kazw) will work solves it.;)

Jasper's here, which helps me with the BD enormously; he's such an exuberant little chap.:o I've got him for 2 nights, while his humans move house.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Flying-wise so far today all I've managed to do is bleach the washing up bowl. However I have also managed to make something rather lovely using up a massive sweet potato that's been knocking around for a week or three, some tinned fried onions (wanted to know what they tasted like being a lazy creature: *meh*), chickpeas and a pile of spices. Short answer - scrumptious, virtually fat free and three F&V all in one hit. Excellent news.
    Better is good enough.
