Tbh, Lamewolf, although the blanket-on-the-table-and-travel-iron thing works, I'd just buy him another dozen as an early Yule gift. They're not that expensive and it'll save faffing about in mid-November trying to work out what he wants then.

Twinks hobnobs made and quality-controlled. I mean, three batches involves three tests, right? And some seriously good women's gymnastics decluttered. It's the only sport I really love watching. Sensational young English woman from Bristol blew me away on the bar and floor - I missed it all yesterday so I'm going to be doing some serious catch-up.
    Better is good enough.

LW.. my stepdad was a caravan joiner when he had his op and was off work the compulsory 3 weeks summer shutdown and went back on the day they were supposed to and was absolutely fine.. but, with these things there is a risk of more occurring, he has a large one which they cannot operate on due to his heart condition, he had a massive heart attack 3 years ago so it is too risky... you could get some of those bungee cords and strap him to his chair?! He will be fine very soon :)

    DW fed again
    Dinner cooked and snaffled
    shopping away

Girls being very noisy but playing nicely together.. I don't want them to go away tomorrow.. I've only just got them back :( Squeak and Dot really miss them too.

    Next question: Ironing.
We iron very little in this household, but some items simply must be done. Now, we have a wee travel iron that's light enough for me to use, but I can't lift the ironing board. If I really need to iron something, I'm thinking to put the leaf up on the kitchen table and put a blanket with a teacloth over it to act as a "pad" and iron on that. Will that work, you you think, folks? :o
The most likely thing I'll need to iron will be hankies. Mr LW does like his hankies ironed, and that's a job I need to forestall him trying to do himself before he's fit to.;)

Sorry but nothing HAS to be ironed, EVER - especially if you are not going out of the house.

Re hankies, you blow your snot into a piece of material. Un-ironed material will not reject your snot. One's 'blowing snot out of nose' experience is not enhanced by flat material.

    Love you lamewolf xx

Mrs Wolf.. *puts on stern voice* .. Mr wolf will not want you fretting over his snotrags.. get him some Kleenex for a week.. *puts away the stern voice* .. hankies are vile anyway.. puts off pickpockets though when they get a sticky bogey lol ... speak to him see what he says.. I bet he says he and you will manage and to stop your worrying about the silly things

Folded washing from the airer and put the airer away. Restacked my ebay tosh and gubbins and cleared away a couple of poops (cucking fats!!) and 'hid' Squeaks birthday presents in plain sight in a binbag.. it's like hiding a binbag in the backroom of a charity shop!

We have a fruit fly problem.. and no fruit.. and the lazy council have not emptied the maggot bins so my street is honking.. On the phone first thing tomorrow to growl!

Went out this afternoon and got back at tea time. So made dinner, sorted kids out, cleared up from dinner and put kids to bed.
Got two loads of washing off the line and ironed it straight away. Only got to the bottom of my basket this morning and I couldn't bear to have more hanging around and the ironing board acting as a table in my living room for the next couple of days. So all done and put away! Dw on reading for the morning.

Oh... And 1lb lost at weigh in. Despite going to a wedding and consuming 3000 calories in food and alcohol! Oops! Luckily I went for a run on the morning of the wedding (I knew it would be a big one) and was then good for the next couple of days!

  • Morning all - should not come on this thread first thing on a MSE weekly email morning as I just "happened" to notice the 1000 points on Tesco wine offer. Well, we just had to have some as have only just run out of our last lot!!!! Got half price wine, free delivery in a timed delivery slot and will get equivalent of £40 when quadrupled points - so nearly free wine!!!! It will/should ( delete as appropriate) last us 6 months anyway - I hope!

Plan for today - get on with more paperwork sorting! aaagh!!!.

Am checking all the filing boxes to make sure all are decluttered of old stuff. Then will be able to declare June/July challenge tomorrow. It is not all done - but I did say only three boxes. Problem is I piled it all into one mahoosive box ( mr T wine box as it happens as so sturdy!) so that is equivalent of about 6 of my normal boxes.

Will need to carry on with the paper challenge for August and September but it is much much improved!

Lunch out and vol job 2 this pm.

    Hope everyone's OK?

    morning all
planning on staying at home today and flying here.
DS1 is expecting a parcel to be delivered but got slightly ticked off yesterday over something so putting my own flying first today.
did a favour for a neighbour which led to a huge bargain for me neighbour whos gone on hols told me shes asked a CS to put something by for her and if i was passing would i pick it up - had to get mils prescrip so nipped in they had disney dvds for 50p each. managed to get 3 for our shelf.

had a phone call off DS2 at scout camp on monday night that has upset me. i got a message from the school to say a much liked teacher has passed away unexpectedly, (DS2s favourite) id texted scout leader to warn him knowing the tinternet would reach scout camp. so at least he knew he may have upset boys to deal with. sure enough DS rang at about 10pm to ask had i heard 'its all over facebook', my heart bled for him hed heard and snuck off in the woods with his phone to ask me what i knew and check we were all ok.
i know it happens but how a virus can take someone so young and fit so quickly is beyond my comprehension. i havent walked by the school yet but DH said the front fence is awash with flowers. my thoughts are with his wife and young family
