DH spent most of the morning taking boxes out of our loft which we put into storage today. We still have a lot more in the loft plus DD student stuff from her flat to get stored next week.

Had a quick meal of new potaoes, chicken, cauliflower, carrots and cabbage with cheese sauce when we got back.

We will drag more stuff out of the loft tomorrow and at least we have made a start.

Very miffed there is not a queue of eager buyers for our house !

Hugs to everyone having a rotten time.

DH informed me this morning that it was St Swithins day and that if it rained most of today then it would be ike that for the next forty days!!!

Guess what the weather has been doing since about 11.30 ??

The rain is stil bucketing down now!!!

Sorry Elona but if the St Swithins thing is true, I hope it's regional! We only had about 3 minutes of rain today:D

Evening everyone and hugs to those in need..

smokybabe - so sorry t hear about your SIL, and of course not good news for your OH. And what a nightmare for your poor son, only 7, still a baby really. How scary for him. Hope you have a better week this week.
Is there any chance you could give me your SC chicken caserole recipe ? I want to bnatch cook some (well using quorn instead but same difference) and have never been very good at it. Only if you get time though. And thanks in advance :)

anniebl - wow those gifts were great, and what a bargain at Harrod's! well done :T

PenPen - well done on R4L - great time, thats what I did it in last year :T Not doing it this year due to pregnancy and general knackeredness:o

Hester - woo hoo on the ebay £31 sale

toonie - welcome over here. hope you got all the info you needed on your nanny questions yesterday

Plans for tomorrow are to take the kids to their swimming lessons (DD only 2 so I go in with her, DS 4 so I stay to watch and need to get him changed etc. She is in the am he is in the pm, we only just have time to go home and have lunch and get back up to the pool so it seems to take most of the day).
We are going on hols on Tuesday so got a load of clothes to iron and then pack for myself and kids. Will try and do some craft stuff with the kids too,. they have had a rough deal all weekend with us doing diy jobs at home.

Might make a caserole of some sort to freeze (maybe smokybabe's), got some peppers in the fridge to use up but no tins of tomatoes so will have to be a gravy/stock/sachet mix based sauce. Have some veg sausages in the freezer and think I have a packet mix so maybe will use that.

Tomorrow's lunch will be cheese on toast with cherry tomatoes and baby sweetcorn, and yoghurts for pudding - got all that to use up before we go away. Tea will probably be quorn fillets with jacket spuds and peas and sweetcorn out of the freezer.

    Night night all

Yes thanks Jill, I got lots of info to help out. Its nice to have somewhere to ask things like that as I wasn't sure whether it would be good form to ask for extra things for the kitchen and the like.

I think for me its enough tidying for today and will finish off tomorrow (have the day off work) as the person coming to look at the house isn't coming until the afternoon.

The only time it rained here today was when I was on my way home from my boyfriends, typically I didn't have an umbrella, but I only had a five minute walk as I'd got a lift.

Will also need to go to the shops tomorrow as the only food I have is two cooking apples and a tin of baked beans, which I don't think I'll get far on :rotfl:

  • first post on this. Had a terrible experience today. Went to fill up with fuel and put unleaded in by mistake. Phoned the AA who told me that , providing i hadn't put more that 5 litres in then I could just fill tank with diesel and the car would be fine. (I had only put in 3 litres before I realised the hose was green and not black!!!)
    I haven't told OH!
Don't know why. It's my car, not his.
I just think he will think I'm ditsy.( He has often commented that I must have been born blonde!!!!!!!)
Car has run for 40 miles with no ill effects.
Need to send thoughts to all those other "born blonde" people!!!

Have no idea what is going on with you all. Just popped in to say I got back about 9.00 tonight, having dropped off DH at airport and then at DD's for dinner. I must say older boys a total pain. They are totally winding each other up with the wee kick, the wee nudge, the not sharing! Not helping because of new baby but it was going on before! The good news is that at the moment they absolutely adore their wee brother and are showering him with nothing but love and affection. GB sat in the middle today with 12 day old on shoulder and cuddles all round and giving DGS3 to each of other two for cuddles. DGS3 already maimed - he has a huge scratch on the face when mitts were off! Have told the Older two they are coming over to Granny's Boot Camp soon. Eldest GS asked what is Boot Camp. I said no toys, no tv, no movies, no treats - you do what you are told first thing or you two will be spending all day on the step!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pushed the pram to the shops today and was totally made up with the admiring glances! (It was Tesco by the way which was one of the ones shut down yesterday).

Did a fair bit of gardening yesterday and this morning and filled the brown bin. Also got a really nasty injury last night when I was pruning pyracantha. A thorn stuck in and I could not stop bleeding. Arm overhead, pressure on, no plasters of right size - had to seek neighbours help! Also had to wash huge blood blobs off doors etc this morning! Got discovered various scars today but neighbour's plaster still there - it did the trick. Bought a new supply today. Have decicided I need to really organise myself and according to current weather forecast my two gardening days willbe Tuesday and Thursday this week, but lets wait and see.

The usual general love, hugs, welcome and anything else today. Told you all I would be erratic over the next couple of weeks, especially with tooth extraction on Tuesday.

    Love to you all
