i havent posted in a while, kept my head down and threw all my focus into repaying the last of my debt, which i did on 6/7:)
now finally debt free, i dont want to lose all i have learned in the last two years so im trying to log in daily to keep me motivated to save.
summer holidays are almost upon us again:D i for one will be rejoycing. no more ironing school uniform, dragging four kids out of bed every morning, searching for a lost trainer, pe bag or lunchbox. no monetary requests from the school for six glorious weeks! yay! and just think of all the petrol i will be saving on no school runs!!!!
im trying to get organised as our weekly shop will be done online for six weeks, as i cant take ds3 in shops as the lighting is terrible on his hypersensitivity. i feel a real need to meal plan coming on.....
hope everyone has a great sunday:)November NSD's - 70 -
Morning!:hello:
(((Hugs))) to Smokey and family, hope things get better for you soon, you have done so well on the finances.
Well today is the day of my Aunties M's 70th garden party and looking at the weather I think it may have to be moved indoors unless Hastings has avoided the thunderstorms.
My legs feel a bit better today so with dh driving and hopefully not far to walk I should be ok. I do have a new trendy bright magenta pink folding stick though if I need it;). Looking forward to seeing all my cousins again after far too long. Dh has put some photos on cd of my American Auntie L (Auntie M's big sister) and I have had a copy of an old wartime photo of Aunty M as a little girl made up by a photographer friend for her.
Donny gal - We manage the 5 a day or more by having fresh fruit salads, yogurt and fruit, hm veg soups and side salads with most meals (though we are having a bit of a problem with the side salads and sore mouths at the moment!) Smoothies are very good as well.
Amie - I can remember the mid week basin wash! With all the wet washing drip drying over the bath if the weather was bad! Don't forget this was before folk had automatic washing machines, we are sooo lucky aren't we!
PenPen - Good luck today with the run! I am not able to run myself (have sponsored PP) but will keep in mind my mil Margaret who bravely fought this awful illness my friend S who has won the battle and of course our own inspirational JackieO throughout the day.
(((Hugs))) to all
:T Wow JamieD well done!

Hi everyone!
The chaps are otherwise engaged at the mo so have nabbed the pc whilst it's free!!
Lovely to see you back SB [I've missed your pictures!] and congratulations JD on becoming debt free. It must be a huge relief.
Have had/am having a fairly OS weekend so far. Yesterday was taken up with cleaning [reading Harry Potter], cleaning [reading Harry Potter] and some cooking. We had friends over to dinner last night...I tried out a new mackeral pate recipe for it which was really tasty but made about twice the amount we could eat. Fortunately the friends really enjoyed it and I've sent them home with some whilst we should be able to finish off the last of it for lunch. Exciting news [well it is for me anyway]...the larder is now painted and OH finished painting the floor yesterday [that's another freebie piece of wood donated by my sister]
Ugh..replastering next. Fortunately my lovely Dad has offered his services. I meanwhile have done the girlie thing and been down to the library to find out how I can redecorate my "gorgeous" kitchen doors. Have to get the colour scheme sorted first now don't I:D
Today I plan to cook up a load of windfall apples I've been given and put the brown bananas to good use in a banana loaf. Shall also be making HM turkey nuggets and serving them as a Maryland dish with bacon and bananas. Have a massive pile of ironing to do aswell as took full advantage of the dry weather yesterday and line dried loads. First however, I think I shall need to tackle the rather large pile of washing up left over from last night. It's the only occasion I wish a DW would magically appear! Ah well.
Hopefully will get in tomorrow to catch up with all your OS doings!

Bore da!
On the run as spent too long in the shower using a 'hair de-tox' kit that cost me 50p from Boots bargain shelves. I am pleased to report that my hair still looks like my hair ... so i would have been furious if I had paid the full price! No wonder it was only 50p.
Made a 'morsbag' yesterday and have 3 more cut out. I found the link some where here on OS. They go together well and will save me from exploding carrier bags - mine are all so old now. I shop in Tesco so it will earn me 1pt every time I use it too. i am not going to get rich on this, but will earn myself ooh ...50p a year?
Today I shall iron. Lunch is a bargain (yellow stickered) beef roast!
Will drop in later and read up on everybody else's exciting lives.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
DONNY-GAL - thanks for the link re Jodi Picoult books. I haven't read one yet so I want to get one soon!
I re-looked at the offer, and no only are they £3 each, they are 3 for £5:T :T , trouble is they have 4 on offer
Be careful, when you add 3 to the basket it is not giving the right price, I have emailed them!!

:hello: Goooood morning fellow OS'ers
WB Smokey, sorry to read about all the strife you're enduring
WB OldMcdonaldwell done on restructuring your budget. :T
catz - have a good trip and Happy 70th birthday to your Aunt - she's going to love that photo CD!!
Pen Pen - Best of luck with your Race For Life today :T A friend of mine that I sponsored should have done hers a couple of weeks ago, but it was postponed due to the weather. She couldn't re-do it this weekend, she's in Spain for a week long hen party
Jamie - how absolutely BRILLIANT!!!! :T :T :T :T Well done to you, I'm really soooooo proud of you!!! You must have had a huge grin on your face on the 6th
Never made it over to visit my friends yesterday afterall - by the time I'd finished my tasks, had a nice long soak and phoned, they had visitors calling. She did suggest I go over at 7pm, but it's an hour each way and to be honest, I'm on the go from 6 each morning and I really don't fancy arriving at 7pm.She gets up at midday at the earliest, doesn't drive and can't seem to relate
Anyway, this morning, I've cooked the beans I soaked yesterday (well, they're still cooking), chilled the chicken stock overnight, used the timer on the BM to make a cinnamon and sultana loaf; frozen the yogurt loaf I made yesterday; added some Ribena lollies to the blackberry yogurt lollies I made yesterday. Couldn't turn the computer on earlier because of a beautiful storm overhead - I worry about things like that- so I've been keeping myself occupied
Boys will be home at teatime - normally they come back after school, but their Dad has cut it short this time due to .... surprise, surprise  ... work! I'm making a trifle to tea for when they get home
Wishing you all a super Sunday, ((hugs)) for those who need/want them.

Good Morning everyone!
OH isn't feeling well yet, so another lazy day I think . Tho he will have to go to the Co-op down the road for bits as I can't.
Cats are chasing each other around the house right now, in their own private formula 1 course - starting block in the kitchen, out and around the dining room table ( watch out for my foot!) then a figure 8 to the coffee table, up the stairs and a quick tumble on the bed, then back down again. I'm never able to figure out who wins!
Look slike rain here as welll, gonna end up using the dryer. :-(0
