Halifax must have been inundated with switch requests over the past 2 days.

This new offer/change in T&Cs was posted on HUKD 2 days ago (hottest deal of the day and now for the week); so I can only imagine a few extra thousand switching applications have gone through both in branch and online.

Wonder if this will impact on their switching service? Time will tell I guess...

You may (will?) have a problem if your debit card has expired.

Where it asks for the 16 digit card no. there's a "I don't have a debit card" button to click. Maybe that'll get around it?

DDs are not needed for the switching bonus.
You can add 2 later for the £5 monthly bonus (also got to pay £750 month in)

I still have a valid debit card. Its my old student account which i got for a rail card in the 90s! Crap interest, but just kept it open for the massive OD, i also haven't used in years.

I already have a reward account and have failed miserably at the DDs on that to get the fiver. I wont be doing that part of it.

10 minutes work setting up a couple of Tesco savings accounts and a DD on each would see you getting £60 a year for no further work!

Do as I do and set the DDs up for £2.50 each and they'll even collect the £5 Reward for you, meaning all you have to do is remember to spend less than a minute once a month (payday?) cycling £750 in and out of the account.

    It's almost too easy!

Any particular reason for £2.5? Is £1 sufficient?

2 x £2.50 = £5, the exact amount paid into the account each month. As you don't get any interest on it, you might as well pull it out into a savings account.
