My daughter used a taxi last week to get to 6 form (it was just for one day as she starts in September) she is unable to walk far, its about a mile away it cost £4.50 for 1 mile.
We now been told that as of September we will have to find £300 per annum and thats subsided by the county council.0 -

They are not cheap arent taxis. Can she not get LA transport for Post 16?:beer:0 -
Thanks, no its only when she was at secondary school we are on a low income, no dla as yet but have a blue badge.
She may get that ema though, but I feel she is being penalised because if it was me, I would walk that 1 mile and have all the money for lifes extras. £30 is maximum award assuming she gets the maximum amount, of which £8 per week will be taxi fare0 -

On the bright side, that still leaves her 22 quid a week to save. Not great but it is something.:beer:0 -

You should try it.0 -
Phil - why are you obssessed with what the mythical 'they' do? Wouldn't it be more fulfilling to live your own life instead of fretting about what other people do?
Incidentally, it would be more honest to post in the Arms and simply say 'I'm bored; anyone fancy a chat?' There's no reason to clog up DT with this kind of thread.0 -

Dunno Phil - my ex was a taxi driver, and you would be amazed what he got offered instead of the more conventional cash...............
I personally always thought that the women offering a BJ in exchange for a £5 fare were selling themselves a little cheaply.........
But, as he used to say, BJ's don't put dinner on the table, so I expect most of those getting 2 taxis a day work for a living (or if not, have it paid for by their social workers/the DWP).
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

Oh crumbs no, now someone will have to explain to SP what a BJ is and this thread will take on a whole new life:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
why hadn't i found this thread earlier?
Here's a reason for me taking lots of taxis.. work pays for it
Whenever I go away for business, i live the high life. I stay in the Hilton, i take a taxi everywhere I go and I eat at good restaurants. Best of all it's all on expenses and costs me nothing. I even get money back from Quidco and free Hilton stays using Hilton points for this stuff.
And I have a 2:20
