I think he ripped here off as town is about same distance and it costs £3.80-£4.00kimevans;5743717]My husband is a cab driver.
That £4.50 for one mile..........
About half of whats earned is profit, the first half goes towards the purchase of the car, the wear & tear on the car, the depreciation of the car, the tax on the car, the MOTing of the car, the cleaning of the car, the hire & reward insurance, the licencing of the car, the licencing of the driver, the fuel, ECT ECT ECT.
So that leaves £2.25 of your fare. Its not just the time your daughter spent in the car, its the time it too him to drive to your house to pick her up. So if that all took 20 minutes, you will see that its not that much really. £6.75 PH & then your tax & NI & accountant to pay.0 -

I wasn't saying £4.50 was the correct price for 1 mile.
The other poster said she had been charged £4.50 for one mile.
I was just explaining that its not £4.50 in the driver pocket.
Actually the minimum fare is usually £4-£5 (depending on where you live) & you can go up to 2 miles for that.0 -
last taxi i got was either £3 or £3.50 for 1 1/2 miles i think
i used the cheapest firm known to man though, used them once cos they were new, cheap and turned up a few minutes late but were cheap and the car was clean and the driver friendly, used them ever since when i don't drivethings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok
