Yes actually, I have a degree in computer science - do you have any education in computers? Just because some people call or say something is so doesn't make it right. And I think the term you are using is what people call bandwidth allowance...

I do have eduction in computers, even if you are agreeing that people use bandwidth for both meanings does not mean that you can go around trying to make out that you know more.

Bandwidth is speed, yet you can buy more bandwidth with some ISP upto 20GB does that mean that you will get ADSL at 20gbps download speed. No.

erm you don't buy more bandwidth - if you were paying for more bandwidth you would probably be paying for a faster speed. If you pay for more monthly download allowance you are allowed to download more.

I'm not saying I know more - I never said that anywhere, if thats what you or others choose to conclude so be it.

Yes you do if you have a capped download limit ISP you buy more bandwidth.
Nildram is one such ISP that sells more bandwidth.

Scientifically "bandwidth" can only be translated as speed in a data system but in terms of web hosting etc it is used colloquially for amount of data. Everythingblogcast is right that the industry does use it as a definition of data quantity but blacksheep1979 is also right that it is the incorrect use of a scientific definition. Now group hug everyone.

Well you both seemed to be arguing different points making you both technically right which is why argument was getting quite circular.

Blacksheep1979 mentioning computer science degree reminded me of an old school friend who was doing that at uni and we were both at a carppy summer job and after another employee asked what he was doing at uni and my friend said he was doing computer science, this guy said "oh that's easy, anyone can build a computer"!! This was also the same place where I told someone I was doing engineering at uni and they understood that to mean that I "worked on cars/mechanic". Talking about public misunderstanding of subjects!

Did the above but it didn't say which router I'm using only IP address,Subnet Mask and Default Gateway but I'm still keeping my eye on that 360 anyway!!
