My fitness pal isn't bad and it helps monitor carb intake etc but you still need to check sometimes as not everything is on there, most things are but then like carbs and the like aren't added with some I found

  • I've been noseying at your thread for the last few months now. I had a weight lightbulb moment on Saturday where I was at an occasion where I'd not seen extended family for a while and I got told I'd put on weight. My mum as blunt as ever told me that I used to look so glamorous and I'm looking so frumpy now.

That was it, time for some action. My parents even offered to pay for Weight Watchers which I refused.

    i weighed myself and at 5"6 I'm 11 stone 11lb.

Since Monday I've taken action. I've cut out most carbs and eating meat in a leaner way. I've also done 3 5km runs this week and taking fish salad rather than sandwiches to work.

Something is happening as I weighed 11st 6lb this morning although I do appreciate the first week or so weight loss is fast then drops to about 1-2lb a week.

I go to China on 4th August so would love to be 11 St by that point. I fly to Dubrovnik on 30 August so I'd love to be at 10st 7lb by then but I may be being overly optimistic with this goal.

Does anyone have a calorie counting site that may help at all?

I use my fitness pal and I find it invaluable for eating healthy. If you want to go down the low carb root make sure you eat good quality meat and fish, with a variety of vegetables. One or two pieces of fruit a day (berries are good as they are lower carb). I found that with low carb I felt good but the first few days I felt a bit off so just be prepared for that. Good luck.

    Hey first trouble,

Just catching up on your recent posts, I hope you're doing well post funeral and looking after yourself.

Don't dwell on the off days, they are to be expected at times like this, you'll soon feel back to "normal" sort of and gradually the exercise and healthy eating will come back in full force.

    Keep at it!

Do you have instagram? I find some good motivation on there from fitness posters. They give good exercise ideas you can do at home too. Fit girls guide is a good supportive one for ladies,

It seems to be working! I've lost about 9lbs and I'm really enjoying the gym.ni went to a spinning class yesterday and swimming today! I just feel better within myself and I'm almost at my first goal of 11st. On my return from China my next goal is a further 7lb and then the hard part of maintaining it!
