I am starting to feel my enthusiasm wane on the exercise front. I miss being able to run in our local park before work it used to give me a feeling of peace and serenity. (its only open from dawn until dusk so not open in the early mornings now until summer). I have signed up to the park run events and am doing my first one next Saturday quite looking forward to it. It will also be my first 5kThat voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Just read back over this thread and the amount that I have changed over the past few months in relation to the type of foods I eat so much more vegetables make an appearance hardly any normal potato, successfully switched to brown rice and pasta, no added sugar if I can help it. Although have noticed a few naughty treats creeping back in so have to put a stop to that regularity.
I have noticed that the main occurring theme is lack of exercise or really good intentions that I don't always follow through on. Mostly it is laziness on my part when it comes down to the crunch. Need to find a way that will break through this mindset. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

I always find I have to say to myself 'right at ... I'm doing/ going ...' Or I do what I did on Wednesday and sit and watch TV between shifts. But knowing Zumba was on yesterday meant me getting up earlier, but was worth it as I felt energised for the rest of the day. Does your local leisure centre run classes? Mind you even they aren't cheap sometimes (I think single classes are around £4.50 here)
I'm the same with treats. I just have to remind myself of my goal. I'm half tempted to get tattoed somewhere 'a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips' but I wouldn't mind working back in a school one day so might have some explaining to do if it's on my arm or wrist:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:

Was quite proud of myself Sunday I was up at 7.30am with all the good intentions of going for a run. Looked out the window, it was raining, thought to myself it will be ok I will wear a cap it will keep the worst of my face at least. Hunted for 40 mins couldn't find my cap. Started to get quite irritated.
In my head I was thinking "husband isn't up yet no one would know if you didn't go!"
Made a decision to just go!
So I did I ran for 3 miles (pulse rate 64) took me about an hour but I ran further than I have done previously and didn't break to walk either. As I was enjoying it so much I ended up pushing myself further than I ever had. Even in the rain! I was soaked by the time I got home but in a much better mood than I have been in a while. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Ok Weigh in this morning.
On the plus side I have lost 1 and half inches off my waist and half an inch off my left thigh and arm.
I have put on weight though. Current weight stands at 11st 5.8lbs.
I think this is partly down to my lack of exercise and portion sizes starting to creep up. Oh and all the takeaways.
I know this has to stop as I am heading down the path of self destruction which I am all to familiar with. So what am I going to do about it?
1. I will be going back to weekly weigh-ins I think this will help me keep a better eye on my weight.
2. Keep an eye on portions sizes and extra naughties (these should be occasional!).
3. Reduce carb intake to 100g a day or below.
4. Ensure that I exercise three times a week.
Things I will keep the same
1. Keep cals above 1600
2. Eating plenty of vegThat voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

I find it easiest to exercise first thing in the morning then I don't have time to get distracted by something else or too tired. I did used to attend my local gym with my mum and sister and it was a lovely bonding activity but now they have both relocated up North. I would spend 11hrs min in the gym doing a mixture of gym workouts and classes, getting home around 8.30 - 9.30. This was before we got the furry kids though. It's now quite difficult to commit to a specific time as my husband does night shift work and I do not feel safe walking back from the gym to my house that late. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!
