My friend does the 5:2 diet, I've been low carbing and we've lost about the same amount of weight; I don't think it matters what you do to be honest, as long as it works for you.
I had an op a couple of weeks ago and haven't been back to the gym since, hopefully soon though!
Loving the name Rubyslippers77!!
I think you're right not every diet works for everyone especially long term. I used to do slimming world and it was fine but could only stick to it for a few months at a time. The HFLC seems to be working for me so far as I am eating a normal healthy diet.
Take it easy after your op and just do what you feel you can. Every little helps. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

The only reason my 'diet' wouldn't work for everyone is lifestyle.
I eat nothing processed or nutritionally redundant.
Only natural stuff & No need for starchy meal 'bulkers' like potato mountains or rice avalanches.
I lost 10st in 14 months.... I took up marathon style training, which is no mean feat with arthritic knees!I can't add up.0 -

I got my monthly shop delivered a few days ago and it was all real food.
My husband looks at it as says....
Huband: "where is all the food?"
Me:"er right in front of you"
Husband: "Did you buy pot noodles?"
Me: "No. Why would I buy that?"
Husband: "So you haven't really bought any food have you?":rotfl:That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Sorry for the absence I have been ill with the flu.
Just getting my strength and appetite back slowly but surely...
Managed to do some exercises but nothing intensive. Its my first day back to work so if I am not too exhausted when I get home I will attempt some HIIT see how I get on. Positive thoughts! That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Felt like a couch potato over the last few days so need to do something was going to see how much energy I had when I get home will either be HIIT (20mins or whatever I can manage) or walk the dog. Poor dog hasn't had an evening walk for the past few weeks due to fireworks so he may appreciate this too. That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!
