Jobcentre making me go on Daily Signing. Can I do anything to prevent it?

But has his nickname suggests he is bored so by signing on every day will help him get motivated for work or uni.
It is irrelevant what you think should happen.
The DWP are meant to follow their own rules and guidance! hich they are not doing here.
Besides, how is signing on daily getting someone ready for work?
Particularly when they have to spend time out of looking for work in travelling to the Jobcentre each day.0 -
Does seem a bit over the top Op..I'd have a word with the Manager of the JCP, see if they can't make some allowances for you..Congrats on getting into University BTW.:T0

Be sure to ask them about expenses for travelling in each day - as like others I believe they cover it.
It's not for a good reason.
What is the point in looking for work (unless temporary) when he will be letting the employer down in 5 weeks time anyway, by going to university?
Particularly when they are so many jobseekers looking for work long-term.0 -

and they won't even give me travel expenses.
They should pay your travel expenses.
Ask to speak to your job centre management, and complain about this.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

This freedom of information request backs up that travel expenses should be paid in these circumstances (unless new 'rules' have come in since it was posted)

You are claiming because you can within the rules whether you really intend to work or not during that period and despite the fact you don't actually need the money for your everyday needs. They are asking you to come in every day again because they can too despite the fact they probably know it wine help you gain employment. Rules can be stretched on both sides.0

If you are near rural farming areas then why not try to get some seasonal work. This will give you more cash than jsa...thus you will be able to tell jsa where to go and finally you will still have time in the evening to study and sort out things for uni.0

No harm in the OP applying for temp jobs, if he isnt looking for work then he should sign off and sort out his Student Finance & Accommodation and read up on some of the previous years coursework as he suggested.0

You shouldn't be allowed to claim at all. You don't get Jobseeker's allowance for preparing to go to Uni, you get it for job seeking. Hint is in the name.
Bearing in mind the hint in your name, I'm calling troll.0 -

So by that logic all full time University students should be claiming JSA for the duration of their studies?!
I thought the whole point of the 'visits' to the centre were to prove you are doing your part of searching and applying for jobs, without which you are no longer entitled to claim?0
