You will need to talk to your parents about the specifics of why they want you to move out now. It may be money-related, or it could be something else. If you have a lot of money saved at least you won't be out on your ear and needing to apply for a property in a less desirable area. Hopefully you can get yourself something good for your money.

My cousin did not want to move out of his parents home, and indeed he didn't until he had to (they split up and the house was being sold). I think he quite liked being at his parents and having the security of knowing that if something went wrong with the house, for example, it was someone else's responsibility.

When he eventually did get a place of his own (he too was not strapped for cash, largely due to living at low cost with his parents) he was not able to look after it very well, and it soon became like one of those houses Kim and Aggie used to visit! Try not to let this happen! :rotfl:

  • You are all right: he is a troll and has nothing else to do with his days.

After all, he did say in one of his post that he spends 10 hours a day watching TV.

Having said that it has been a really entertaining thread to read. It got me thinking about parental love of young adults as I have just helped my son (age 20) to move into his first flat.
