My first car was a Citroen GS 1222cc air cooled engine, could nearly do a ton, VOB 32S. One of the best cars I've owned aside from needing mega-muscles to steer it. Demised at a T junction which I failed to notice.0

In 2009, bought a 6-year old Mercedes E320 CDi with 145,000 miles on the clock. Ran it to 217,000 miles, then got another newer model. Used it for my business, so maintaining and fuelling it was tax relief'd.0

First car was a Vauxhall chevette estate, white with Alloys on it and sports seats and loads of whistles and bells. Bought it off my brother, who had fitted loads of bling to it. It started off as an old Martin Dawes engineers car.
Loved it, got done for speeding in it, 2 weeks after getting it ( 37 in a 30 zone).
Best car I have ever had, was a Vauxhall astra saloon, white, went like !!!! off a shovel !
Worst car, Vauxhall astra hatchback B reg. Went up in flames outside my flat 1 night, due to petrol leak.0 -

A 1968 Mini Countryman estate, with wood panelling on the back - not too dissimilar to this :

It was as old as me when I bought itIt was a great little car, although I had to learn to double-declutch pretty rapidly, and the footwells filled with water every time it rained. The poor old thing ended up more fibreglass than metal ! Taught me a lot about DIY car maintenance and repairs though

Probably the Triumph Toledo shouldn't count as the owner gave it to me for a (£15) donation to charity as he thought it would never go again. (Rusted out core plug). So the Simca 1100 gets the honours. Bought in 1979 as a four year old for £25. MOT failure (sills) and engine needed rebuilt and terrible paintwork.
Cars have got immeasurably better over the years, European build and quality control on run of the mill cars was shocking.0
