But I didnt buy my car. And if you did know what car I drove home in tonight you'd say there are better cars. Im telling you there are better cars. Its also not the best car for me and in8-10weeks ill have a nice shiny one. That'll be better for me but then there will still be better cars. Ill be impressed with the improvement but indifferent to observers opinions.

Common courtesy (had you bought it) would mean that other people wouldnt go "what did you buy that for?, you're an idiot, a fool and their money are easy parted!"

Well, I waited so long for a response, I was kinda hoping that it would at least be half decent. Suppose you can't have everything.

Can you blame me? Its says nothing. Youve shot your self in the foot? By stating my source(although this was also stated obviously when "google" was written)?

Again, you're arguing the wrong thing. You correctly stated your source as google, however when I looked it up, the definition you put was incorrect. What you put was actually a synonym. Not exactly major, I'll give you that, but you were still wrong and it's exactly the sort of thing that, if the positions were reversed, you'd argue about.

However, the bit about shooting yourself in the foot was not even about that. If you recall, you shot yourself in the foot when you sarcastically said "google is your only source for this argument" when, in fact, I was quoting your post about the google definition. So not even my source.

Seems I was just reiterating but that was unsurprisingly missed. So in conclusion, your list is imperfect, but you did do as you was told and compiled on which is commendable. The over egging of the pudding by yourself was your undoing. Perfect? No, because you told us it was incomplete. So near but yet so far. Well done for trying.

I have made this point so many times, yet you are still missing it. Try just re-reading my posts from before, maybe in a few weeks you'll understand.

    Perfect =/= incomplete.

Isn't this thread about stop/start anymore? For pages it just seems to be an ongoing argument:(

I would be interested to know the opinions of anyone who has a Ford Ka with this as I am thinking of buying one, but don' really like the idea of the engine stopping:eek:

It shouldnt really affect you when you're driving it.

All auxiliary functions (including heater) will operate normally, and the car will restart if it needs to if say, battery charge drops a bit or cabin temperate drops / rises.

Its a little disconcerting the first few times but you soon get used to it.

Not sure if you will get more MPG out of your car because of it in itself, but if you did a lot of city driving you might notice a difference.

It suits him to miss it, and it suits him to argue a semantical point as it means he can avoid answering you directly and admitting hes wrong.

Thats what this thread is about now to him - avoiding having to answer anything directly so that he cant be pulled on it (again).

He has repeating avoided answering the simple question as to what his objection was to my post on page 3 when he described me as an idiot and "it doesnt work like that" - so better to "muddy the waters".

Not realising of course, that hes just made himself look ridiculous on this thread.

I'm actually embarassed for him. :o

But to deny the fact vehicles are better doesnt make sense. Cars are a better method of transport than walking. Or is that not the case because people take enjoyment from walking?
And then there are specifications that are better which is the manufacturers own deciding. The prices will reflect this.

It doesn't to you, but that's no surprise :o
Cars are a better method of transport than walking? Now that doesn't make sense at all.
Just because something costs more doesn't make it better.

Depends on your journey and your own particular opinions on what defines "better" for you, does it not?

Someone might decide an electric Renault Twizzy is better to get to work across a city instead of say, a top end Merc. Whos to say they're wrong? Yet if you were to look up Honest John, you would be able to extract many phrases that would suggest the Merc is "better"?

What you define as "better" will not be the same as other peoples, but that doesnt make them an idiot or wrong just because their choices are different from yours.

Right, i'm going to call you on this, because that is not what you said.

    heres what you actually put

So, based on what you say you put, compared to what you actually put (below) are you :-

    (a) a compulsive liar?
    (b) deluded?
    (c) completely unaware of how ignorant you actually are?
    (d) a troll?

Great that you found those for me. Quotes two and four directly correspond to

!"your car isnt very good, alternatives are better" and they aint put downs. :rotfl:so which of your options cover that?

For clarity you are saying cars arent better than walking:eek:?
And yes, just because it costs more that doesnt make it better. But the nice chappys who make the car say a certain spec/model/engine etc is better than another, they would know right? And the fact they charge more for it reinforces it not defines it(although maybe for them as a business it does)

    Ah, evasion again.

We should have played tactic bingo here, as to which technique you would next use to avoid answering a direction question.
