Do you have a problem with English people? You do know there are equality and diversity courses you could go on to get rid of that bigoted racist chip on your shoulder.

No absolutely no problem but when I read that comment about tax payers money, I assumed they think that I just want to get off paying. Like some others did. I'm just angry, fuming and I felt like it was not fair they should have gave me few seconds to open the door, and it would have gave them easy access,
FYI I just finished business and administration course with merit, buy like the other thread said when I'm so angry and upset I can't even express in my own language

Perhaps they should have given 7 days written notice of their raid?

Any posters who think you want to get off paying probably think that because you specifically said - twice - in your first post that you don't think it's right that the council want you to pay 1/3 of the cost of the replacement door and that the Council should bill the Police, not you.

Council now wants 500,1/3 of it from me to replace the door, and I don't think is right,

and this is the reason that I feel it is not fair to make me pay for the door, they should bill the police

Regardless of what you think, unless you pay the full cost of the replacement door plus the full cost of the labour to fit it, somebody else is subsidising you through their council tax.

And it's that that isn't fair, not the fact that the Police didn't give you chance to open the door or the fact that the Council have asked for a contribution for the replacement door from you.

    Pay up.

    I can't believe what I'm reading.

OP - how can you expect not to pay for the repair on a door when it's been more or less proven that your son has been dealing drugs? In actual fact, your son should be paying for the door - and the fact you only have to pay a third of the cost means you should be grateful you are not paying the full amount.

The lack of taking responsibility from you is astonishing - if I had kids and they touched drugs, let alone dealt them, they'd be out on their ear - that's what I was brought up to believe. I'd never touch them myself and never have done, not even just to "try" or "experiment".

If it was me, I'd be paying the full cost of the door and then asking, or telling the son he needs to pay me back for the cost else he has no-where else to live - and even then this is under the terms that if caught with any drugs, he'd be out at the drop of a hat - second chance, fine, third chance? No chance.

You knowingly harbored a drug dealer, now face up to the consequences and think long and hard before you allow him to live in your home again.

I don't think you're going to get much, if any, sympathy from anyone on here regarding the cost of the door.

Why do you think the police should recklessly endanger their lives for a door? They were dealing with a Drug dealer and they don't know what's behind that door. A few seconds gives someone the opportunity to grab a knife or gun.

and it gives someone the opportunity to flush away any drugs, etc.

people I'm not expecting sympathy, and is not that I don't take responsibility for my sons actions and Im repeating my self over and over I had suspicions I did not know for sure is he dealing or not, and no I don't think they should have given me 7 days notice, and there it comes again, talk about Police Intelligence, Did They found anything???? from ( Im not sure my self) some on line say they raided 19 houses some say 22, only 1 boy had some drugs and 150 cash, the other 1 had some weed, from all that Police Operation what did they get out??? And don't you people think if they raided Big Fishes what will they get in their???
And our kids would have been free of drugs,. And talk about racism, I did not want to mention this because I don't know for sure but it is on the back of my mind, from all those boys who were arrested that day,19 or 22 most of them were from this estate and after couple of days I heard people talking that only the doors from us foreigners have been smashed down, and i asked why how come, they said probably because those boys English ones one of them has a mother who has a heart condition the other one his dad is sick the other one his grandmother is sick and so on. Ok maybe, because I remember how my heart was beating that day and I was thinking thank god I have a strong heart otherwise i would've got an heart attack, and they knocked on their doors and waited for them to wake up and open the door for them!!!
So anyone out there want to say that Im just trying to get out of paying is totally wrong,Im just feeling that that was not rightful,. And for my son I cant just give up on him, he had me on his case and see what he did what will he become If I give up on him, but I can see that this was a lesson for him every time I go to see him what he says it makes me believe that this is it, he said last time I saw him Im sorry for what I put you through and if I come out of here I will do whatever you tell me to do, he just was stupid and he had to learn the hard way.

That is completely right, My point is they had followed them for 5 months and in my opinion Police Intelligence should have had all the info's,as who is who and what they are capable off, Me alive and my son touch a knife or a gun in my home never ever

i know my English is not perfect but come on it is clear, he would have not brought home any I kept tell him If I know u are involved with drugs Im calling police my self I rather see you in jail than becoming a thug,.
And how come no one listens to me it took them 3-4 minutes to come in if there were drugs we had plenty of time to dispose them

  • Instead of making excuses about your son's behaviour, I suggest you find him somewhere else to live. He clearly has no respect for his family, and if the council decides to seek possession your entire family may find themselves homeless.
You wouldn't find a private landlord so generous. If you were one of my tenants you would be served notice immediately and you would be paying for all of the door - not just a percentage of it!
As for the police giving you time to open your door - unfortunately that option was removed when you allowed a known drug dealer to reside in your property. If you are not originally from the UK, I would assume your vast experience of Police Inspectors is not the UK Police. Perhaps they do things differently in your country of origin?
Something about your posts just makes me think troll - I mean looking for sympathy for paying towards the cost of replacing a door broken down due to a drug dealer in the home. Really?
