Off to the post office then wait in for my veg and fruit box - amazing quality and so cheap. I am sharing with Ds and wifey this time.

Saving every single penny.

Try and have as wonderful christmas caterina and fingers crossed the bugs (health and other ) will flitter away like butterflies.
Honestly its really good having someone to help you clean, building work is a nightmare, spent months trying to get rid of plaster and still finding it everywhere
We had snow yesterday:D
Cheered me up no end, what can i say, seeing various shades of grey becomes monotonous after a while. Didn't lay though as it was too wet.
amanda were the same we got a bonus £30 and were determined not to waste it. Determined next year will be better.
Cranky snap my hairs going purple soon!
Its blue / black at the moment lol
So far so good with no spends, only bought christmas things as and when needed.
Got my father to finally eat something other than a sandwich and tunnocks cream cakes, so yes i shouldn't really have spent. But now he has a cupboard filled with tins of veg, beans, ravioli, potatoes. I know not the most healthy but at least i know it wont go off and the daft thing wont give himself food poisoning.
Actually been spending more time preparing meals as before was so stressful with school and appointments so were back to having home made meals again. Feel like have a bit more energy now. Front room decorating is almost finished, one bit of glossing to do. Windows are covered in fake snow and glow in the dark stickers courtesy of artiste extraordinaire ds2.
Right hope your feel better soon, now where did i put that wrapping paper hmmm
caterina take care of yourself!!! xx0 -
Caterina you will be missed ! Merry Christmas to you and Mr Caterina and here's to a brighter 2015
Meanmarie Glad to hear your physio is going well, look after yourself
Welcome Euripidesralph
Well Number 7 was stuck down with gastro all weekend, it started on Friday with DS1 and DS3. Hubby and I started with it Saturday night.
The only one to escape was DS2.
My lovely mum came and picked up DS2 for a sleepover to give hubby and I a bit of a break.
Before that though I did manage to get some more Xmas shopping done, baked my first ever Xmas cake - gf too so fingers crossed! And made some chocs and Irish cream for pressies.
We also bought our first real Xmas tree! Went to the garden centre and got a smallish one in a pot and the hope is that a) we keep it alive for next year :rotfl: and b) we will see the tree grow as the children grow
Well Monday morning here and I'm enjoying a cuppa in bed and a cuddle with my littlest one planning the rest of what I need to do for Xmas ,, it's going to be a busy week.Love people use things. The opposite never works.0 -

Hello all,
Just quickly in and out to resurrect this thread, I saw someone posting very much in line with what we all have been going through here and hope that they might find our musings helpful.
I am still in the middle of all sorts of life issues so still won't be posting much, but I am looking forward to a lot of January challenges in Frugaldom when I shall come back to posting with a vengeance!
A very merry Christmas and happy New Year to all! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Would love to join. I was on the ball OS style and massively fell off the wagon over the past couple of years.
I'm starting again now with the OS way of life. It is hard going as I work a pressured job FT, but I believe OS is far better for my health and well being than continuing as I am. I'm looking at it as an investment in my family.
We still have much debt and the house is pretty squalid in places - it needs an overhaul. I'm also very overweight and quite fed up in myself. I decided to work on myself next year and try and put myself first - OS is part of that.
Sending Christmas wishes to all.0 -

Thank you CaterinaA very happy Christmas to You and Yours also xxx
This has been a great thread and you certainly got me back on track big style - so I've graduated to the No Spend 2015 thread
Come back and encourage, bring lots of people back into the OS fold.0 -
A very happy Christmas and a prosperous and joyful New Year to all!
Thank you all for your kind words understanding for my low profile, and thank you Katkin for the lovely compliments.
I intend to start posting again as I feel better, as soon as I get over the busyness of Christmas. Also my health issues are in hand and am feeling less destabilised, I have a date for my small op and feel a lot more in control.
See you all soon xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
