MOS pleased you had good time in London and the purse was found.

My back is slowly improving but have been taking it very easily.
I did make toad in the hole last night which was good and managed a short walk this morning which did make me feel better listening to the birds.
I need to clean bathroom but that may be all for today.

Oh ginny I was just like your daughter. My mum and dad called the doctor once to give me an injection to make me sleep as they'd had enough. It did put me to sleep but only for an hour. The neighbours ended up taking turns to have me overnight to give my parents a break. The house elf slept through at the age of 3 years and 11 months, so he wasn't as bad as me. My mum had to wait until I started school aged 5 and that finally wore me out. I was diagnosed as hyperactive at the same time and the GP gave me valium. Mum put them down the toilet. Hope you got your afternoon tea.

Anyway, the elf slept until 6:30 this morning so I assume he is fixed. I have kept him off today anyway to be completely sure, and we made Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle baubles for the Christmas tree. I am slightly mystified though. Given that most things have 2 eyes, I am wondering why Hobby cr@ft sell their stick on eyes in bags of 25? I may email them and ask.

I've just made chocolate fairy cakes too, and a curry for my dinner is bubbling on the hob. Not sure what Grumpy will have. His meals are out of sync today as he didn't want breakfast, he just had a cup of tea. He doesn't like curry, but there's plenty of things in that he will eat when he's hungry. Oh I managed the ironing this afternoon too. Just as well as there will be another lot by tomorrow afternoon :o I haven't spent anything today as we haven't been over the doorstep.

m_o_s, the last time we were in M&M world my greedy nephew filled his bag to bursting and then squeezed the said bag until the tag came off and with a noise like gunfire, half of the contents hit the floor. He did not get a refill and had to settle for the half a bag that he had. I'm sorry that your daughter is having so many problems.

villagelife, take it easy. The bathroom can wait.
  • Hi everyone,
I hope this Sunday finds you all well and happy :)

The last few days DS3 has been a bit off colour, nothing serious, just wanting lots of cuddles and feeds.

I managed a nsd on Thursday, stayed home and did some baking with DS2 and while the oven was on I coked the chicken legs for dinner and my gingerbread cake for my xmas truffles.

Friday wasn't a nsd as I had to take the car in for new tyres,, but the good news in that is we've had a bit of a windfall,,, some back pay hubby has been waiting on has finally come through hence the new tryes and I'll be able to finish the xmas shopping stress free now.

Caterina - You are so right about men being stressed but keeping it to them selves. I had a chat with hubby about xmas and even though this money has come through we don't want it squandered.
So a list is going to be made for what we still need and its going to be stuck to!

We had a lovely family day out yesterday with DS1's Navy Cadet unit. It was at a fun park and I had to pay for our tickets a while ago but yesterday we took a big picnic and didn't buy a thing. The boys had a great time and I got to relax on the grass in the sun I think the only thing missing was a glass of wine ;)

My OS plans for today are to finish the food inventory and bake my xmas cake,, probably do some washing as that has seemed to of tripled over night.

Have a lovely OS Sunday everyone

What a lovely thread, I've been reading since the start but just wanted to say how supportive you all are of each other :)

Caterina, hope everything works out. I was the same with certain members (in laws) but it has slowly working itself out. Best advice is to be nuetral in every way. So in the words of skipper "smile and wave boys, just smile and wave"

I was feeling quite down but reading through has perked me up especially with the wet kitty cranky.
Sorry to laugh, I have six cats and guess what everything single one of mine has had unintentionally baths with me.

This week i have had three nsds so I'm actually quite pleased with myself. Two days were planned spend days for food and Christmas shopping.
Well going to try and get some sleep. Night all

I did clean the bathroom but in about 5 minute bursts. I feel happier that its done - it was getting to stage where I couldn't leave it much longer.
Today we are going to 60th birthday lunch. I also will have to drive part of the way as DH has appointment first so will meet us all at MIL's before we go to party. I will be taking it easy and may have to stop enroute. I will be driving for about an hour and is maximum my back can cope when its feeling good. Lunch should be good and is a cousin in law who is lovely so I have to make effort and go.

That is all I'm planning on doing today.
  • Evening All,

Villagelife, I hope your back is feeling better soon.

DD1 has been collected (along with her house rabbit) and is all unpacked and seems to have settled back in nicely. DD2 has also been around all weekend which is unusual for her, she is currently working on her A level Geography homework! (Who stole my DD and has replaced her with this diligent girl) :D

A quiet day today, popped out and picked up a bit of shopping as I wanted to make sure I had enough cat/dog/rabbit food to last until the New Year as I hate shopping at the best of times but near Christmas....

Today we have had roast beef (a very small piece stretched to 3 of us) and I have made a bread pudding and a loaf of bread ready for the week ahead. Tonight we will have something esle to eat but probably something very simple like bananas and custard.

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend x

    Hi all,

Am back but got DH's lurgy so feeling really grotty! Will read all posts properly when feeling a bit better, just wanted to pop in and say hi before going to sleep. Good night.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Evening All,

Caterina, sorry to hear you have DH's lurgy. I hope you start to feel better soon.

Today I had a physio appt which wore me out (that and the shower I took before going) but I opened my food cupboard to find about 5 very small bugs, a bit like thunder flies, on an open bag of porridge! I have thrown the porridge away as there were a few in the bag and have emptied the cupboards and steam cleaned them all. I didn't find any more anywhere and have no idea what they were  fortunately, I keep everything in sealable bags or plastic tubs, the porridge was an oversight on my part :(. It has however meant that I have thrown away a few bits that the girls loved and have since 'gone off' and I will NOT be buying such items again!

Tonight's dinner is a very easy sausage, mash and beans as I am too tired and achy for anything which involves standing for too long, that and I have 2 extra to cook for, DD1 & DD2's boyfriend!

At some point this week I really need to get up and clean the tops of our kitchen cupboards, they are about a foot away from the ceiling as us girls are between 4ft 11 and 5ft 2 so we needed the cupboards putting up a little lower than normal but it means that the tops of them get really dirty. Next time I get a new kitchen I think I will have them put higher up and buy a set of steps! :rotfl:

I am off to grab a quick cuppa before I start dinner so have a lovely evening and catch up later x

    Hi all,

Kezlou welcome to the thread. Thank you for your good wishes, things seem to be marginally improving with DD. We all keep hoping.

MOS thank you, I am feeling a bit grotty but hold a hope that all the echinacea and the vitamins and cups of herbal teas help me get better soon. The bugs sound like weevils to me, they are horrid little creatures, good for you for cleaning everywhere, as they spread!

Sorry for not much posting, since coming back I have been feeling rather unwell. I have been posting a few things here and there in the forum but haven't had the concentration to reply to all your posts on the thread and as I am in bed, typing on the iPad is laborious and annoying (autocorrect etc)!

But I am loving reading all the updates, you are really keeping me company, thank you!

  • Caterina I hope you start feeling better soon :grouphug:
    Welcome Kezlou

Im so glad I remembered to pop the beef in the slow cooker this morning, Im exhausted today after a bad night with DS3.

Did a little Xmas shopping with Mum today and got another 2 gifts sorted :)
Everywhere is so busy now and I get very agitated in crowds, I really need to get the shopping done this week.

I was so mithered leaving mums to get to the doctors on time I left my phone at her house fortunately I'm seeing her again tomorrow so that'll save me a drive.

Ive got another infection on my caesarean wound/scar so another lot of antibiotics. DS3 is 5 months now it really should all healed. The worst thing about the antibiotics is it goes through my milk and upsets his tummy.

Off into the city tomorrow to take the little boys to see Santa, in the main department store they have a Santaland with train rides, I think its all free unless you want a pic wih the jolly man in the red suit :santa2:
