Morning all,
Happy belated birthday Ginny, glad you were spoiled and had a fab day.
Ostaragirl how far North are you? I'm in Aberdeen and seldom see anyone from my neck of the woods on here
My plans for yesterday evening went out the window when I got home from the gym, it seems to sap all my energy these days so those evenings get wasted. I just wached a bit of tele, had a long bubbly bath with my kindle then bed. Shall extend my list onto tonight instead.
-file receipts
-file paperwork
-fuel car
-pick up moisturiser (my face will thank me for this!)
-hoover inside of car
-attempt to remove turtle lurking in my hand brake (long story!), don't think that will help the MOT any!
Hope you're all having a good day, hugs where needed

Belated birthday wishes Ginny - you kept that quiet!!!
Cheaps - what you going to be studying at uni?
Had an impromptu BBQ for MIL's birthday - rummaged in the freezer for sausages (free from a friend - local organic ones) a pack of mince (made into 6 decent sized burgers), corn cobs (cooked in butter, oil and chilli flakes - yum)....grabbed some savoury rice from the cupboard and mixed in a few salady bits and some "6 for £1" mayo (from AF), cooked some pasta (value) and mixed in a bit of dressing, half a tin of tomatoes half a cooked onion and pepper and some dried herbs. Did some crispy potatoes (beginning to sprout) with a BBQ marinade (12 for £1 from AF) and some veg skewers using homegrown courgette and tomatoes with a chopped onion. All I had to buy was 6 bread rolls (YS 19p). I fed 6 big eaters with loads of leftovers for lunch for the next few days. Just took a bit of thought rather than "oh lets just go buy"...
Going to be decorating next week so need to have a good sort out and pack up of lots of stuff...started with the bookcase and now have a huge bag of CD's and DVDs to go to the exchange place in town - a quick look at prices shows we should get around £32....it's all just clutter so I shall be glad to see the back of it.

Definitely way up North then haha
Not sure if it's a sign that Scots are canny by nature and I'm not a true Scot or that the rest are all lurkers0 -
Hello Cheapskate, welcome, good to have you on this thread!
Just back from a tiny OS meet, only 3 of us, but we had a lovely time. Ate a lot of bits and pieces in the IKEA restaurant, mainly kids meals but I also got us some cake because my birthday is coming up and I have already started celebrating. I love to stretch the party each way of the actual day, celebrating with different friends at different times.
Also bought the sink and tap as planned, so I hit two birds with one stone, the meet and the shopping trip.
Ate so much that tonight I'm only having a bit of salad, DH is having a work picnic so it is a nice lazy evening for me.
Hope you all had a good day. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Oh dear. Yesterday was not such an OS day after all. Decided to visit my relative in hospital so another 29miles on the clock and a lot more petrol guzzled. Even the evening meal had to be compromised for speed so I still have veg languishing in the fridge but I'm glad she went as it cheered her up I think as she had tears in her eyes when we parted. Does that mean cheerful? Whatever she's back in her care home now so all's well that ends well.

Trying to be OS - managing to take lunch into work and cooked from scratch every evening. Last night cooked a gammon and so have left overs for lunch.
DS2 made his lunch for work perhaps OS ways are rubbing off on him.
Cleared a small patch of the garden yesterday evening. I just have to design a plan for the garden and then can start to dig veg plots for next year0 -
Well done villagelife!
Today's OS:
1. Yesterday I finally cancelled the posh organic veg box and instead started an order of local (Kent, just down the road from me) fruit, veg and eggs. Aiming to eat more local even if not all organic. Got the delivery today and it looks lovely.
2. Laundry is in my friend's machine, meanwhile I have ironed DH's shirts. Off to pick up laundry in a minute to hang in the garden before the weather changes, tomorrow it might rain.
3. DH got another nice packed lunch.
Tonight a little treat, Italian fair, ticket includes a small meal with beer. Can't wait! Have a good day all. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0
