    Hi all
Maman, it's a mixture of financial reasons and practical. I was literally just losing and gaining the same few pounds and I always seemed to settle around 14 7 so I thought eventually I had enough and called it. The only advice I seemed to get was 'up your superfree' which I did to the extent I was getting stuff at the weekend when my partner does the shopping and spending 30-40 A WEEK on top of that. My weekly benefits are only £108 so when you consider that plus group fees and all the other things you seem to get stung for I realised enough was enough. Also I couldn't just change my diet and cook different stuff like other people both because of my lack of cooking facilities and my disability so I think those restrictions just caught up. Plus the fact I couldn't ever seem to get past 14 4 no matter what I did or how hard I tried was starting to take it's toll on my mental health so I called at a weight that I seemed to be most frequently. Plus if I do drop to 14 4 again I'm still in range :)
I am absolutely cream crackered! :D it was a lovely walk but blisters now cover the soles of both feet and also the palms of both my hands from my crutches. I hadn't realised it was 5 miles long   but I managed it in 75 minutes, finishing 5th :) I walked it, as did most people although there were some who jogged but according to my pedometer app, I half walked with an average speed of 7.4 (that's what I do on the treadmill) and half ran with an average speed of 9.2  I know I was fair shifting but I didn't think I was walking that fast!! When I consider that the last time I visited the park where it was held I weighed nearly 20 stone and was exhausted just walking the short distance from the car to the way in, I can't believe that I walked from one length of the park to the other and back stopping three times (twice was to have a drink of water, once was a pause at the mid point and once was to use the loo :D) but I wasn't out of breath and I felt fine :) I got lots of congratulations and I feel very proud. It was very poignant for me as some of you may know I am two years into remission from cancer and I know it sounds selfish but I was doing it for me and I'm so proud I've done it :)
Good to see you back Frogga. Sorry things are a bit rubbish. Sending good vibes and thoughts your way xxx

Argh hubby wants me to help him diet and lose weight but he won't follow slimming world as he says he will have to starve himself. He says it's stupid to have to weigh cereal and he won't eat some stuff that I eat like quiche salad and veg so I've no idea how he expects to lose weight

My DH started SW before me and has lost 2st following it. Before I started on SW, hubby had porridge for brekky, pasta in a tomato based pasta sauce for lunch followed by an apple and then had a normal 'whatever I made tea' which in the beginning certainly wasn't SW friendly. He also had mug shots as snacks and went off plan from time to time with sweets etc but he still managed to lose weight. When he first started he didn't enjoy eating salads much either, he didn't consider them a proper meal but he'll quite happily tuck into one now.

If your hubby won't eat veg could you not disquise it in a pasta sauce or a curry etc.

    EE Menu today:

    B: 2 x Wheatabix & ff greek yoghurt with honey ( 3syns)Coffee with milk.
L: Noodles. Apple. Tea with milk.
D: Roast Chicken, Mashed potato (2 syns), 4 x veg, stuffing (2 syns), Gravy (2 syns). Nectarine. Tea with milk.

    Snack: Freddo (5 syns).
    Syn Bank: 1

Thanks for all the comments re hubby. I think the way I'm feeling ATM is stuff him cos why should I help him if he isn't willing to help himself. I couldn't just do him same as me cos he would throw it in bin then give me silent treatment for the evening while eating crisps and biscuits

For those of you like wiz ;) who can bring yourself to abuse a chick pea! the recipe is:
    • 1 drained (410g) can of chick peas patted dry
    • 1tsp of mild chilli powder
    • half tsp each of ground cumin and coriander
Toss the chickpeas in the spice mix and roast on a baking tray in a 200 degree oven for 20-25 mins.

I'd guess they 'd taste like spicy peanuts. I think the abuse is that you could probably eat more than you'd have otherwise.

There's also a recipe for dipping berries (blueberries, raspberries and strawberries) in low fat yogurt. Basically dip and freeze for 2 hours. They might feel like eating them covered in chocolate??

Both sound fab, thanks Maman :j

    Hopefully another good day:

B - Omelette with tomatoes and mushrooms

    D - Speed soup

T - SW burger, jacket potato, salad, strawberries and melon after with fat free natural yogurt.

HEXA - Milk in tea and omelette
    HEXB - Benefit bar

Syns - Had an asda extra special dark Belgian chocolate cookie with a brew earlier, any ideas anyone? 127 kcal is 6.5 yes? Well worth it by the way, delicious...

Definitely hit 7 water and 7 SFs but worried cookie might take me over 7. If it comes out as under, I won't have my options tonight...

    Still, it's done now...

I think you're OK. The All Butter fruity flapjack ones are 5.5, all the others (apple, strawberry etc) are just 3.

I'm just wasting time on here, procrastinating...

Wow Mrs R that was some walk, well done you are right to feel proud.

Well I have completely blown this week, just back from a fabulous buffet lunch at a new restaurant that's opened in town. Its a buffet style with a mix of Chinese, Indian and Japanese food. Think I must have tried a bit of everything and followed it up with a big bowl of five different types icecream. So expecting a gain on Tuesday but so so worth it

    Good afternoon everyone
I had a great break in Brugge, decided to try to be careful where possible. Did not eat in-between meals, had salads where I could and only had one ice cream and 1 waffle, did have quite a few beers though and a McDonald's yesterday. I had 7 chocolates over the break and walked 4/5 miles everyday. Will see what damage has been done when I weigh Tuesday night at club!
I looked through and taken down weight posts, hope I haven't missed any. If I've missed you or you forgot post it now and I'll add you today. Back to normal posting next week, post when you weigh in, it's fine as I have more time next week.
In total we have lost 144.8lbs since start of July :T:T:T
    Here we go

D is going. To be chicken chow mein out of the fakeaway book
I usually have pink and whites and a bit of dark chocolate for my syns

This morning I shall burn some calories off cleaning. Then the rest of the day I'm working on my little office, my room, box room, no one else's room lol.
Have a good day all x

    Hi all

Hugs to those who need them. Seems like a few people are having a tough time.

Must admit have been a bit down myself this weekend. Caught site of myself in a window and thought I looked ancient, dowdy and really fat so feel really cr*p about myself. However I have sat down and done a mealplan for the week and am determined to stick to it. I go back to work in 2 weeks as our summer hols are nearly over and I had planned to have lost a stone at least in the holidays. In reality I think I my have put on!!

So positive thinking for me next week and stick to plan.
