Some great stories on here this morning.
Lantanna I shouldn't worry about the mail online populace; from the very few articles I have read on there, the responsive readership seem to be vile misogynistic racists and I for one would be delighted not to be someone they would consider attractive. I suspect as a gobby, intelligent, Northern, feminist, liberal single mother who is carrying a couple of extra stone, I'm as far removed from their ideal woman as it is possible to be, and I couldn't be happier about it
Frogga it sounds like you're in the same boat as me with work, the school holidays are a dieting nightmare, far too much cupboard temptation during the day. Hoping going back on Tuesday and having to meal plan properly again. Good luck getting back into it and hope you can join us.
Mildredd I must have missed your WOTY, well done you, thoroughly deserved.
Well done losers and welcome new kids.
After a pretty good week (we won't mention Saturday night), I have high hopes for my 2lb to finish the challenge on target.
B- Scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, HEXB toast (so much for cutting down on bread)
D - Tuna pasta salad, pineapple, kiwi, Muller light lemon Greek style.
T - Superfart soup, maybe some SW chips too.
9 syns left for the week so I'm thinking about an options and a packet of low syn crisps.0 -
Maman mine looks like a green day? Does this mean I can have more milk and maybe a cereal bar? It'll be a tin of tuna with my dinner...0

Brilliant sentiment!! Couldn't agree more!
Denise, if it's not too late, have a great holiday.:)She also kept asking me if I felt better, and if Mr Frog was happy. The implication being that now I was thin we were 'doing it' more and he'd be relieved not to be 'doing it with a fatty'. I find the whole thing SO mortifying.
Probably shouldn't laugh but.....:rotfl:
I suppose it's easy for me because I live in a big city and there's a huge choice of groups plus I've always commuted (30+ miles each way) but I'd loathe to be in a group where I met parents etc. Any chance you could go to an 'anonymous' group? One of the (few) things I like about my group is that I've met people who I'd never have come across if I wasn't doing SW. My consultant always uses me as an example but it's an example of how to lose with SW and drink copious amounts alcohol at the same time.:o:DSo although all I have lost the weight and everyone expects me to be tap dancing in the streets - all in the garden is definitely not rosy.
I'm sure this rant is of no interest - but hey that is me ! :rotfl:
It may not be all rosy lantanna, but it has to be better than when you were 7 stone heavier. I've never once regretted losing the weight. Although it can't be the answer to everything it does help boost self esteem and make other things easier to handle.
I had a good time yesterday. Hired a beach hut, with friends, at the air festival and had a great picnic lunch. Not really my thing but enjoyable for the novelty value. If I'm being objective it was just one meal and I'm now drawing a big green line!;)

I'm no expert on Green:o but as it's never stopped me butting in before......
I agree it can be a Green day. You'll have already had your 2 x HEBs (assuming large slice of bread and 115g can of tuna). If small slice bread then you can have any of the cereal bars where it's 2 for a HEB. That leaves you 2 HEAs. I'm assuming one in milk with drinks so you've one to spare for more milk, cheese or whatever.
Hope that makes some sense!0 -

Thank you, not leaving until mid afternoon. DH is at work at the moment and has to go to hospital for an X-ray on his wrist on his way home. Hoping to get away by about 3 or 3.30.

Frogga - I was going to suggest that you try going to another group, preferably where you are unlikely to bump into parents or other people you know.

Lantanna - I agree with Maman

Maman - sounds good.
Any particular reason for a big green line?

I'm with you on the weekend wine - but mine will probably go on for the next 3 weeks:rotfl: not just the weekend!

Can I nip in with a question please, as I have done the Slimming World diet successfully twice before:o and could do with doing it a 3rd time:o.
My quick query is:
What suggestions has anyone got please re what to put with side veggies with dinner?
Usually, I either put a little butter on them or some fresh lemon juice and olive oil. I certainly wouldn't fancy them with nothing on them.
Has anyone got any other suitable suggestions as to what I can do instead to add a bit of "taste" to my veggies (as both my standard accompaniments don't fit in with dieting)?0 -
Is it ok to have SW chips in the afternoon or in the evening on a green day?0

Since returning I've continued to be good, staying within syns but going the lactofree and gluten free route. I am feeling much better as a result
Oooh, this reminds me.There was a thread on another part of the boards last night where a lady was asking about SW and gluten-free.I don't know alot about it,but said what I thought, then directed her here.If anyone is able to help, and Picky doesn't make it here, here is the thread:

Although I've followed a gluten free diet before I've not done it with slimming world, so am still finding my feet.
I personally don't like the taste/texture of GF pasta. Recently I tried making a lasagne by substituting the pasta for brown rice and it worked really well. Obviously you don't get the regimented layers as in normal lasagne but the flavours are the same.
I have some GF recipes for bread which I will try out in the next few weeks. One is a microwave bread which only takes 5 mins to cook. Will let you know if its successful.Weight loss 0/2st
