its the early flush - and i'm on holiday at the mo. you wait until I am bogged down with the druggery of it all! I am trying to make it exciting whilst making a large dent in a large debt - taking advantage of these early days enthusiasm.
Meanwhile I can only look on with admiration at your happy jumpy smileys next to the word gone - with luck mine will have Christmas hats on!44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
Afternoon - so what have I done today:-
1. I have bought this week's groceries - within budget by 12p!
2. Taken advantage of 8p off per litre to fill the car up with petrol - still within the budget - just!
3. "Bought" an ironing pad for my cutting table with a £5 argos voucher - 1p change!
4. Taken apart and re-sewn a top to fit for my holiday - previously I would have just gone out and by another one!
5. Raised £12 through a facebook sale.
6. "found " £250 within the budget to set against the holiday spends. Anything over this will have to go on the cc, anything left over from this figure can go to the OD.
I have also started to think about next months budget - its frustrating me that I really should enter it yet on YNAB (the principle is based on budgeting after you get the money) and I am optimistic about paying off a larger amount of the OD next month.(possibly famous last words!!)44 day challenge

So - dear diary - what's gone on today - nothing short of a miracle!
I had a trip out to my favourite craft store with a mahoosive budget of £88 allocated (its is nearly two hours away so it has to be worth the visit!). I came away with nearly £30 left!!!!!! Somehow I just didn't want to fritter away this valuable resource!!
instead I have rejigged this week's YNAB budget and pushed the extra over to the holiday spends budget heading. I now have the £250 target that I set myself and can use any additional funds for the od.
Today I also reconciled the YNAB budget with the bank account for the first time and was a penny out !! woop woop
so - all in all today has been a good day. I am about to finish an advent calendar from my fabric stash which will double up as a present and need to make a birthday card - which again will save some spends. As seen in someone else's signature - I am really beginning to subscribe to the view that every penny is a prisoner!44 day challenge

So - its a sunday and I have just come across another money making scheme - not hard cash but points towards amazon vouchers etc.
Link to site :- www.receet.co.uk
Referral code:- CtoW4R
If you are like me and keep all your receipts this looks a good one - its an app where you take a photo of your receipt and upload it - you then get 5 points for every £1 - or more if they are a silver / gold merchant. I've just spent around 20 mins doing it and think that I have enough for a £5 amazon voucher. if this is on the level then this could be a very lucrative tool!
Otherwise today is more tidying and sorting for the tabletop sale - with a little crafting thrown in for good measure.
Hi :hello:
Thanks for posting this.
I've signed up using your referral code.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Afternoon diary
Not much to report today. I'm nearing the end of my first week of budgeting (get paid monthly but have broken it down and my first week ends tomorrow). Broadly speaking things have gone well and I have managed to squirrel away £260 towards my holiday spends in a week's time - bodes well for the debt repayment which starts in earnest next month.
I had a small ebay sale today - 99p mmmm - every little helps so they say!!
I also made a small present - woke up at 5am and wanted to try a new sewing technique. Its my birthday next week and i'm going round to a friends house for a meal so will take a small hostess present -she's an avid reader so............
Otherwise its been a low spend day - got taken out for lunch so just a salad for tea which helps to keep the costs down44 day challenge

Daily report in - not much to say - just some general ramblings.
I have listed 4 items on ebay - since when did I get excited about a 99p bid????? I have also spent some time sewing, dozing and catching up on Scandal - yep that's what holidays are for I guess!!
Tomorrow I am off out shopping - its the start of my second YNAB week. I have a total of £30 M & S vouchers to use and 4 copies of the £5 off £10 meat / fish morrisons vouchers so I am hoping to spend "not a lot" to get a lot!
Tomorrow is also the start of August so it feels right to set myself some targets:-
1. Pay £300 off my overdraft £0/£300
2. Find 20 items to declutter 0 / 20
3. List 20 items on ebay 4 / 20
Its also just over a week to my holiday so I guess that my focus is on that at the moment - uber excited! Not only is it all paid for but the holiday is maybe the first one in a long while NOT to rely heavily on a credit card to find it - must be a true first!
On a different note I maybe getting control over my finances but my weight is creeping up - mainly through the medication that I am on but also because I cant stop stuffing my face. My fourth target must therefore to restart slimming world.
4. Re start Slimming world after the holiday and lose half a stone.44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
Oh dear - I forgot to report in yesterday!
I spent the day out with some very good friends - being extremely frugal. Need a coffee and cake - use your M & S vouchers. Need some shopping? Use our Morrisons meat vouchers, M & S green redeem voucher and Mail online M & S vouchers. Upshot was a low spend day and a freezer full of meat.
I also had one item end on ebay but had no bids so have relisted it.
So my budgets are still on track with YNAB but haven't increased at all.44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -

Just popping by to say your diary makes inspiring reading and I wish you every success. I'm hoping to do a bit more with receipts as I don't get on so well with survey sites (they don't seem to like you if you don't have a TV) so I may well also make use of your referral code over the weekend if that's OK.
I hope you enjoy your holiday ... the idea of lots of crafting time is fantastic, I aim to get more knitting time every week but it never pans out but like yourself, crafting presents to save on Christmas spends is a great motivator and you're doing so well on all other fronts (I totally understand the need to get on top whilst it's the holidays! term time drains the life out of you)!Best wishes for your DF journey. x
