Room Sizes Only in Metres

Am I the only one that finds it very annoying when EAs only show room measurements in metres and are too lazy to show feet and inches too?

You should be - the metric system has been around for decades, many people nowadays only know the metric system, and everything modern is sold with metric measurements as per EU/Commonwealth regulations. Get with the times, man! :p

It may finally be time for you to get used to metres, a decade and a half after it became illegal to use imperial units only in that context.

Or, alternatively, move to the US. The _one_ country in the world that doesn't use metric measurements. Even they're (slowly) changing.

I'm the same - I can only visualise sizes of rooms if they are in feet and inches !

You're probably not the only one yet, but part of a dying breed. I grew up learning metric but with most people talking imperial so I can switch between the two fairly easily and converting 1 metre to 3 1/3rd feet isn't that hard. With most people younger than mid forties never having been taught imperial measures, the market for selling houses (to people needing a 25 year mortgage paid off by retirement) is rapidly closing off the imperial generation. On that basis not bothering with a defunct measure is reasonable.

Personally I find it annoying when they miss out the measurement in cubits and furlongs.

It's bemusing when the garden measurements aren't rod, pole or perch either.

I hope they don't drive because Imperial is still the mandated measurement system.
