That's one heck of a LOT of savings in pot 2, 32b3, makes me all tingly at the thought of how much nearly a stone could be in cash!

With the £2 coin weighing 12g which is the greatest value per gram of any coin (£1 coin is 9.5g & 50p is 8g according to the royal mint website) that means that if we had 6340g worth of £2 coins at 12g each you would have around £1056. ;)
  • Evening all, £5.60 for the pot today - feel like I've been on a good roll for a couple of days but as long as something goes in each day I'll be happy. Getting ever so near now.......

£1 change from the dentists - got away lightly, with 2 toothbrushes, floss sticks and some prescription toothpaste for £14, got the usual "do you want tooth whitening for £800?" err, no thanks!

It is a private dentist, and they do Botox, lip fillers and some torture device called dermal needling, I don't want any of that either.
    ISA £1675 :DMiniMoohound savings £3685.86 :T Plus £3800 CTF :)

OMG. Thanks for this. It's not all £2 coins in pot 2, but I really can't wait to open it. The pot is slightly bigger than the ones from £land, it's a coca cola tin, which is about an inch taller than the normal ones. It came from home bargains, I got all excited because we finally had a home bargains in London and paid £2 for it lol

I don't think I weighed pot one and it is far under my bed, so I won't dig it out. I will weigh all the pots together just before I open them. Roll on just over 9 weeks.

    £3.52 potted today :D

  • Oh my days how fast has this thread moved on:rotfl:

I have been away for a fantastic 2 weeks in Florida and had my first day back at work today! Talk about rabbit in the headlights - but I'm sure in a couple of days it will seem like I've not been away :D

Well I managed to save a whopping £150 to our spending money that was a secret from OH so I/he was well chuffed with that :T
(Will add it to my total for count up day)

Now I'm back from my hols I am determined to add a minimum of £5 a day (M - F) that I would spend on lunch & other bits of rubbish - well chocolate to say the least ! to my pot to give it a real boost until opening day - can't believe that we are so close to the home straight now of opening day :T:T

Welcome to all the newbies that I am sure have joined and big hugs to everyone as I've really missed you all x

So back to page 33 for me to try and catch up the thread from when I last left you all:p

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning all.

    Change from a tenner yesterday included 6 x £1 coins. Potted along with another 4 x £1 coins = £10 potted.
Just another £10 needed for the week.
Over £900 now and into my last £100 - well pleased.
I'll start bagging up at £950 and see what coins I need to match up for weighing in.

    Keep on potting.

  • I've been unnecessarily spendy this month and I'm feeling it right now with payday still 2 days away :o

I have £1.50 in my purse which I was trying to keep in case we needed it but I'm fairly sure we won't now. I pledge to pot it when I get home :)
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.
    House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000
  • Today I've decided to up my potting. I have decided that every week I am going to set myself a budget for lunch & my general "cash spending". Come Sunday, anything I have left over goes into the pot, including notes, as I have only potted coins up till now.

Then come the end of each month, all money I have left over will be withdrawn and put into the pot or transferred to my savings. I always do my saving transfers the day I get paid, so this will be bonus money for my savings/pot.

This is effective immediately and with pay day on Thursday it looks like I'll have £15 left over this month to put into the pot. :)
  • Just potted 3p.
