It's a long, slow road sometimes :rotfl:

Today I've decided to up my potting. I have decided that every week I am going to set myself a budget for lunch & my general "cash spending". Come Sunday, anything I have left over goes into the pot, including notes, as I have only potted coins up till now.

Then come the end of each month, all money I have left over will be withdrawn and put into the pot or transferred to my savings. I always do my saving transfers the day I get paid, so this will be bonus money for my savings/pot.

This is effective immediately and with pay day on Thursday it looks like I'll have £15 left over this month to put into the pot. :)

I started doing this too a little while ago and it's amazing how much money you can spend on nothing much really - well certainly nothing that you have to show for it anyway
I allocate myself £5 a day for lunch and other bits, although mostly these days I make myself lunch at home and pot the winnings that I have not spent & usually find I don't want to break into my note so into the pot it goes and I feel so righteous by Friday if I've had homemade lunch everyday :D:T

Although I have been a bit more slack of late in potting the winnings:mad:
Now I am back from my hols with even more determination than before to fatten up that pot for opening day :rotfl:

That said I have banked a lovely £10er tonight from lunches yesterday and today and also £1.71 in change from my wallet so feeling very pleased

Also have managed to catch up with the thread so a very pleasant evening x

£30 left in my purse and £53 left in the bank, payday is Friday, paid £40 deposit for caravanning trip at half term, so only £28 balance to pay on that, really looking forward to it, I love being in the woods in Autumn, its more beautiful than summer, the only downside is it gets dark early.

Whatever is left of the £30 will be going in the pot.

Should be another NSD today and tomorrow, on Friday I will need a hair dye to cover the grey.

The ISA will make it to the £1000 mark on payday, so that will be a milestone.

OH is sorting the mortgage out on Friday and will make more of it repayment and less interest only, to cover the shortfall, that will be a big weight off my mind.

Edit - put £50 into the ISA today

Edit again - Just remembered £5 of the £30 belongs to the short man, so I've put it in his tin.
