  • I love counting down to pop opening day, I might now have as much as most of you as I started end of August but it's still exciting plus my birthday is 2 days after pot opening day!

Potted a few more coins today nothing big but my pot is definitely getting heavier, I'm hoping in 10weeks I can fill it, there's still too much space in it at the moment.

Oh dear, the 'how much do you spend on christmas' threads have started already  'sigh' why do people need to know this? I really should stop reading them as it takes the sparkle out of the build up for me but its a bit like a car crash, you don't want to look but your eyes just wont pull away!

  • Hello All,

Is it ok if I join?

    I am new here...

I already have a sealed pot that I have been saving in to help pay off my credit card, I don't add to it nearly as often as I should, but I will start!

I did a carboot this weekend, £20 was given to my son as some were his things, and £20 added to my pot :-)

Flippin heck, that's a bit on the pricey side isn't it, moohound!!! We'll have to rely on a few heavy showers instead.

I know, but the last time we washed it ourselves my Mum 'accidentally' threw a bucket of cold water over me, she said she was aiming at the roof:rotfl:

It has gone in for some work under warranty and OH agreed to have it washed as well at the main dealer, the car wash place do it for £25 I would have taken it there, but its too late now. It does need doing the back is green, and the front is covered in dead bugs.

The thing with my Mum and my son will be a struggle as he is an only grandchild and he is the image of my late, much loved Dad.

Thanks for all the advice from everyone about the short man, he is 7

  • moohound, my little GS is 7 too and he is just the same, money burns a hole in his pocket. His sister is 10 and much more careful with hers so we are hoping it will rub off on him. Your little man is young but will get the hang of saving if you persist with him. Much as I would like to spoil them both with cash, I don't think it's very useful for their parents if I do, so I give them just £1 each when they visit plus extra for school trips and if they have helped me do something (like dusting or baking). Stick to your guns, he'll thank you for it later on :)

A big welcome to mummymayhem You've made a great start already!

A lovely 50p in the pot for me this week. We're almost on countdown folks :D
