    £1.67 potted tonight.

Hi Sue, my DD is getting better thank you. Wish I could say the same for the dogs. All three have had treatment from the vet. Cost a blooming fortune. I don't regret any of it though, our eldest dog had a lump removed from her face and it turned out to be grade 2 cancer. We just hope they managed to get it all.

    Hugs to all.

    Hiya one and all

Well - had to put £14.00 into pot today as didn't pot last week when on my holidays.

Sue-UU - so glad you enjoyed your holidays and had good weather. Yes, I was in Ibiza visiting my son and it was 35 degrees in the daytime  A bit hot even for me - prefer top 20s but great all the same and actually went swimming in the sea :D

Hope you all have a super Sunday

  • Evening all!! Am slightly shaken, at teatime ds announced he'd seen his old taxi driver - oh, was that at the station I ask (ds is supposedly going on the bus). He has learning difficulties and Asperger's but the authority say he's travel trained. No, apparently it was 2 miles from the bus stop - ds bus had been late (assume he'd waited all of 2 minutes), thought he would be late for college and so walked, fortunately? he'd been spotted by someone he knew and taken there - he has cerebal palsy too. Lots of this concerns me, not least that at no point he thought of ringing me!! In some ways I am pleased that he made decisions for himself which shows he is coming along, but......
Anyway, on a potting note - £1.60 for the tin!! Definitely becoming a challenge getting them in, but where there's a will there's a way!!

oh gosh that must have been a worry. I work with adults with learning disabilities and they scare me sometimes. Glad he is safe and sound

NDS :A for me today so nothing to pot for me.

Going to have a rant now…..

DS put his £4 pocket money in his tin, it lasted about 3 hours before he got DH to buy him a comic when they walked to the shops for bread, and then he had to pay his dad back.

The £4 was from my mum, I think its too much and 50p would be enough, £1 absolute maximum.

It would be OK I guess if he would save it instead of buying the first piece of plastic tat he sees. She wants to give him £2 a week plus another £2 for doing his homework, but I really think its too much money, and he should do his homework anyway without having to be paid. I have mentioned this to her but she gave him it anyway.

It works out more an hour than I get after tax :rotfl:

She saves coins in a big pot for his holiday spending money as well, so he doesn't even have to bother saving for that either. He ended up with £265 last year.

Every time she takes him out he comes back with a toy, admittedly sometimes from the charity shops.

I feel like i am fighting a losing battle on both sides.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

Hi, maybe you could sit her down and say that you want to teach him the value of money and if she insists on wanting to give him £4 why doesn't she give him £1 and put £3 in a bank account for him for if he decides to go to university or towards a car etc.
