Just a few handfuls of silver and coppers this week, keep forgetting how much. No £1 coins lately, DH uses them for his fishing days out. He doesn't like taking notes.
Happy homecoming from a happy holiday Sue.

11p in the pot this morning. I looked at my pot as I was potting. I like it. I don't want to take a tin opener to it come opening day. I don't have the patience to get the coins out with a knife. The slot is narrow and I would be screaming by the time I had managed to get about 4 coins out. I am tempted to tin-opener it then tape it up to cover any rough edges to use again next year.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Ummm. You don't necessarily have to eat the yoghurt to prevent or help thrush iyswim :rotfl:

I'd turn it upside down and tin open the bottom halfway round instead, (just make sure you leave a 1cm ish gap at the top just incase you potted any notes and they've worked their way to the bottom of the tin) then tape the bottom back up, that way the tin will still look pretty and you wont have to worry about catching yourself on the opened bit when your potting next year.
Got the inlaws coming today with our uncle from Aussie, got talked into making a coffee cake which is currently cooling on the side . . . DH is like a dog who can smell meat, he keeps wandering in the kitchen :rotfl: he, his mother and our Lil will be fighting over it when its finished :rotfl:
No pennies yet today as haven't been out anywhere, was supposed to go get the meat for me and mum but think DH wants to take MIL with us for a wander round the garden centre so prob not going till tomorrow nowSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Great idea! Thank you, I will do that. I am 99% sure there are no notes in it this year though:(:D

AlwaysHappy wrote: »DS has settled into college and I'm pleased to report is still alive. He now travels on the bus and I'm so proud of him. Made me laugh though (I'd been saying to him he would have to sit next to someone if there weren't any seats - to which he said no way). This morning asked him if he had any anxieties over college and he said the bus was still a bit of a worry regarding the other people. Watched him get on the bus this morning and moved a bloke along so that he could sit with him (the chaps face was a picture) - there were only 2 people on the bus!) my poor ds had thought I meant he had to sit with someone!! Life is complicated isn't it!!
I'm delighted to hear about your DS, AlwaysHappy, though it must be a real problem at times in getting things through correctly. I had to smile at the funny side of the bus journey though, bless him.PS. Oh dear, what a worry it must be for you with your DS and his latest "adventure"! It has to be so difficult to know what's best for him - you too!
As Lynne points out, jakes-mum, there's more than one way to use yoghurt....think cream and soothing!!EverTheOptimist wrote: »I'm thinking there won't be much more than the £60 come opening day but it's better than I would have had without this lovely challenge.
There are lower amounts than that which folk will be delighted with, ETO, there's always something that it'll help out with.
Well done, Indie Kid, one way or tother, at least you still have it!!Kerry_Woman wrote: »Sue - Regarding my temp work, I decided to have a break as my Mum has quite a few appointments to attend and there are a few things I wanted to do in September, so could not commit to a full week for work. I have enough holiday pay to help me through September. Am hoping to start back at temping in October. Am enjoying the break from work so far.
Very wise, Kerry. It'll do you both good to have some time together at a time she needs your help, and the rest for you? What more can I say.
Vicky, you're doing fantastically - and there's still time to go!!!! :jEMMAP wrote:Thinking about changing some of it up and putting in an envelope rather than buying another pot but that does mean knowing what my minimum total will be two months early. Hmmm!
Entirely up to you, EMMAP, though I think I'd be inclined to save the cash rather than buying another pot. Dare you trust someone else to count it for you?
Good for you, smeeinnit, keep on searching for others.
It's lovely to hear you too had a good time, Lynne, weren't we lucky with the weather? Ah, just thought, you were probably abroad anyway.
Ooooooh, I bet your heart skipped a beat when eyeing that 50p, Lynsey!! :j
A few coins is better than none, Trixxibell, keep em potted when possible.
I hope you're soon feeling better, Hicks.
Thanks Modesty. I don't blame your hubby as I'd imaging notes are more easily lost. How's your dear DD?girlatplay wrote:I looked at my pot as I was potting. I like it. In the case of a tin, GAP, I'd go with your latter idea, why shell out more cash if you don't need to?!
Or...go with jakes-mum's idea, sounds good to me.
£50 saved from YouGov surveys and £10 after shopping AND 5p DH found when we were walking! :j All safely potted.Stay potting regularly, everyone, the date is rolling ever closer.....just over 10 weeks to go!! :eek:Have a REALLY WONDERFUL WEEKEND, Potters, and - keep on saving! :j
