"Sealed Pot Challenge" ~ 7 ~ Part 2

  • Well, managed to get some change today, so another £1.60 for the pot. Its getting very difficult to get the coins in my mixed coin tin, really having to jiggle it about to get them in, but still quite a gap in the £ tin. My envelope of new notes seems quite healthy though - I keep resisting the urge to count them.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

DH & I had a truly WONDERFUL holiday with plenty of sun, walks across the heather, still in bloom...ooh that scent. Then on Wednesday DD rang to say she, her DH and the youngest 2 of their 5 kiddies were coming for the weekend!!! :j We had a fabulous time! :D

Enjoy your hols Sue-UU am very jealous of the caravan, we used to have one when DD was a baby and keep talking about getting another now shes older and both kids are more independent so could ride round the campsite on their bikes etc. Just need the pennies to buy one :D

That's what we love about ours, jakes-mum, also our DD bought the kiddies bikes with them at the weekend and they loved the freedom; it also gave our youngest DGS the chance to become far more confident with his. You sound so relieved with your ear now, I'm really thrilled for you. BTW, if you're ever prescribed antibiotics again, then after taking each dose have some organic yoghurt to put the good bacteria back into your body, thus avoiding thrush etc. As a former sufferer of thrush....please believe me - it works, I promise you. :D

We are caravanners as well, I love our Bailey :) it's our escape.

We're Bailey owners too, moohound, and couldn't agree more about the escape that they provide. :j BTW. Wow! Such great knowledge to help jakes-mum, moohound, very well done and has earned you a gold star for caring. :staradmin Thank you so much! My DH had 2 ear ops a few years ago after having had terrible ear infections, one which got that bad because our previous pig-headed Dr wouldn't refer him to ENT and wouldn't give up trying after EIGHT continuous lots of antibiotics!! We went to ENT ourselves in the end and they rushed him through with the first 6 hour op which was terrible by then!

How's your DS doing at college, AlwaysHappy? I hope all's well. BTW, why not shake your cash out of the tin or use a knife to gentle it out?

Marvellous to hear about all the roadkill on your holiday, Saver-upper, I got a total of 2p! :(

So Kerry, is that good news that you've finished tempting for the moment? Either way, enjoy the break.

Hi Guys, haven't posted for what seems like ages as have been fundraising with my son (and potting all coinage) to raise funds for him to go off to climb Mount Kilimanjaro... Only to have the trip cancelled a week before the due date as the travel company have gone into liquidation. Gutted isn't the word....! We did, however, manage to raise £2850 for Meningitis Research but he now cannot complete his challenge. So many other students in the same boat, but disappointment all round.....

Oh, what a rotten shame for your DS and all the others like him, ToniLiz, he's had rotten luck all round with his valiant efforts at doing good, BUT he's done an amazing job in raising sooooo much for Meningitis Research which is absolutely fantastic!!!!! :T BTW, lovely to hear the hubby rummages still go on!

I hope, that just like me, you had a wonderful holiday, Island.girl.

Well done on such a great saving, hummingbird!

Great news that you're doing so well, Helen! :D

Keep up your TERRIFIC saving, everyone, you're all doing wonderfully well!!

Have a LOVELY evening and a good Thursday, Potters, and a great week ahead - and keep on saving! :j

  • Glad you have had a fab holiday Sue-UU, its good to have you back though!! DS has settled into college and I'm pleased to report is still alive. He now travels on the bus and I'm so proud of him. Made me laugh though (I'd been saying to him he would have to sit next to someone if there weren't any seats - to which he said no way). This morning asked him if he had any anxieties over college and he said the bus was still a bit of a worry regarding the other people. Watched him get on the bus this morning and moved a bloke along so that he could sit with him (the chaps face was a picture) - there were only 2 people on the bus!) my poor ds had thought I meant he had to sit with someone!! Life is complicated isn't it!!
Have been out tonight and another £2 for the pot.

  • Sue - Glad that you enjoyed your holiday. Regarding my temp work, I decided to have a break as my Mum has quite a few appointments to attend and there are a few things I wanted to do in September, so could not commit to a full week for work. I have enough holiday pay to help me through September. Am hoping to start back at temping in October. Am enjoying the break from work so far.

    Have potted £4.35.

You are most welcome Moohound, if I have any more gross ear related information, I shall be sure to let you all know :D

You are right DreamerHelen, ooooo it was a fab feeling! :D

a whopping £1.03 in the pot today, am hoping Dh is going to take me to the local garden centre as they have just had a revamp and now have a mahoosive deli, pie and meat section :j :j Tis a bit more expensive than stuff from Mr T but mmmm did it look yummy! The chicken portions put my one sat defrosting at home to shame :o and they have good discounts for buying in bulk so me and mum are going halvsies on the bulk buys :D
