Evening all, I've not posted for a couple of days (life eh???) - but I have been keeping on top of the thread. I hope you have been back to the Drs today jakes-mum - if not - why not???? Some knowledgeable advice from moohound - isn't this a great thread where we help each other out? £2.50 for the pot tonight - the coins are being forced in sideways, I really want to get my shiny new tin out but then will be annoyed if I've cheated and started it whilst the other one can still receive coins, if that makes any sense, decisions, decisions. Again, I "almost" swopped one of the £'s for 10p's from my DS, but talked myself out of it. It is a curse to have a conscience.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

Ahh ty for all the hugs :D they must have all been very healing ones as ear doesn't hurt anywhere near as much! (though still can't hear through it!) Went back to docs who wants me to stick warm olive oil in there every day and then go in 2 weeks to have them syringed (no idea what that entails  I feel a google coming on :o) she also gave me antibiotics . . . unfortunately she handed them over with a 'oh they cause thrush and diahorroea im afraid, sorry about that' so now I can't take them :( NEVER tell someone with a huge phobia of tablets about nasty side effects!

It does seem to be clearing up by itself though, and has got steadily better since I stopped sticking those drops in, I just don't think my ear likes being fussed with :o

On a potting note, another FB sale puts £2.60 in the pot :D

Olive oil is the best de-waxer, and this softens impacted wax so it can be syringed, this where purified water at body temperature is irrigated into the ear pointing upwards and backwards, so not directly at the drum , they should then have a look at the ear drum , a healthy drum looks white. The sensation of pressure you are feeling may be from the impacted wax swelling up.
ENT surgeons tend to clear wax with suction or with a wax hook rather than with syringing, but this can't be done without a microscope.

four pound coins in the pot for me today, my son has started putting his money in it as well so we can "share" it once it is opened, I think I have been stitched up there but it is encouraging him to save.
