So i am going to declare my total. I counted up on Monday so my total is **drum-roll please** £857.19 so happy with that. £16.18 of that was pure roadkill!!
Next year i am planning to save a little differently. Anytime i pay for shopping and my OH gives me money towards it i'll pot it. I don't usually need the money as i budget for it. With that in mind, i already have nearly £50 toward next year
I love seeing everyones totals!!! I can't wait for the grand total to be announced!!!
DeafLeopard - Saving just 30p a week for a year would just beat your this years total! That kind of puts your 20p into perspective. Great find. Also, i love NFG
ETO - I'm very sorry for your loss

Thank You Everyone.....I can't believe how welcome I've been made here.....I feel all your love and support and I really really appreciate it....so Thank You again xXx
Sue....I agree with the Holding Pot idea....I think that I have been too eager to Pot and then halfway through the Week (after I've Potted everything I have) I've got nothing left and have to break into the Pot!!
Soooooooo, with that in mind, I get different lots of money 3 times during the Week - A Monday, a Wednesday and a Thursday...but my main Wages are on a Thursday....so, I've decided that I won't Pot anything during the Week and on a Wednesday Evening I will Pot what I have in my Purse as I'll get paid the next Day.....that way, if I need anything during the Week I will still have it in my Purse and won't need to break into my Pot....
So, today I have potted £10.45 (this is for NEXT YEAR's Pot)....because I know I'm not going out again today so I definitely won't need anymore money before getting paid tomorrow....
Unless I win the Lottery (unlikely since I don't play it) or find any Road Kill....I won't be Potting again until next Wednesday....
So at least I have made a good start on next Year's Pot....and it is one of those Pots that you cannot get into without a Tin Opener....didn't cost much, got it from Ebay....and it's quite a big one so I will look forward to filling it up....
I'm also saving my Coppers in a different Pot....and that Pot won't get emptied until it is COMPLETELY full up...that might take a couple of Years...not sure....but I won't include it in my SPC 2015 Total unless the Tin gets filled up before Opening Day next Year.
Also, I was curious how much Road Kill I could find in exactly one Year so all Year I have been putting any Road Kill I find aside.....I will count it up on New Year's Day and see how much I managed to find across the Year....It probably won't be much (unless I find any Notes before then) but I'll then Pot it on New Year's Day.....It wasn't about saving for me, it was just about being curious about how much I could find in one Year.
Also....I'm happy to open earlier next Year....that's absolutely fine with me....
I don't want to set a Target this Year....I will simply be happy with whatever I manage to Save....
Thank You again everyone....you're all AMAZING xXx0 -
Have potted £5.42.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130

Just to wish all new potters the best of luck. There have been quite a few of late and perfect timing for next year. Good luck.
Nice to see the totals coming in and please don't beat yourself up if you haven't reached as much as you wanted. Anything you have saved is a bonus and a boost.
I've been finished for ages (it seems), but I was worried I wouldn't reach my target! A lower relaxed target next year.
Keep going for the final few hours.

Yiiippppeee Ruth and very many congratulations to you on some fantastic savings!!!!!!! :j:T:dance: Time for treats with OH now!You sounded so positive this year and it paid off!!! Look how well you did on roadkill alone!!!
By eck, you lot are impatient, I reckon it'll be a while until The Grand Total is announced, unless everyone's listened to what I've been plugging this year, namely the 27th!!! Here's hoping we get everyone's Totals tomorrow then you'll have the GT on Friday!!!! :j Fat chance, but......! :rotfl: Great advice to DeafLeopard BTW. If most members looked at savings in that they'd be a lot better off and realise it isn't the mammoth task that it first appears.findingmyfeet wrote: »hi everyone ,

Excellent savings, findingmyfeet!!!!!! :T :j Yet another GREAT saver, a silent one, but a great saver all the same!!!I searched everywhere for you just now (I hadn't read the part passed your total
), anyway, I needed to change round the entire membership list early in the year as so many folk no longer come to MSE (probably all millionaires now! :rotfl:) So, your new No is 435, though you've quite possibly seen my PM now and I'm talking to myself. :lipsrseal Chuffed to bits for you and don't forget that treat!!

Good for you in not setting a Target, Helen, stay as focused and determined as you are right now and, with luck, you'll be ok! If ever you're tempted - remember back to today..or next November 5th!!! Then...leave it alone!!
Well done on keeping the Coppers separate, keep on filling it up!
Fingers crossed the roadkill pot holds a good amount!!I keep mine separate too, but so far haven't counted it, but I know it won't be anywhere near as much as Ruth's!!
That last lot of saving then, Kerry! How are you feeling now..any better with that cough? I hope so, or that it will soon shift for you.
Very wise words of yours, Lynsey. We could all benefit from those.
Just 5p roadkill today...and that was found by hubby outside the hospital! Aside from that we haven't seen any for ages.Sue xPLEASE folks, do ensure your correct Nos are on your siggies!! Many of you have the ones from the old list which makes things more difficult for me.Please check the 2nd Post of the 1st page! IF you're not there then please let me know as I had to change round the entire membership list early in the year so you may be missing, but that can soon be sorted out.
Whether you've declared or not, folks, keep saving that cash!!
An important note from girlatplay, folks: "I bank with Bank of Scotland and they accept as many change bags as you have, as long as you take them to the business banking counter."
Don't forget NOT to change cash via coinstar or they'll have over 10% of YOUR money!!!!

Me and that lovely man of mine will find something to treat ourselves to. Maybe dinner and a movie sometime... He is what has kept me so positive this year.
The roadkill, i have my mum to thank for a lot of it. She is always handing me coins she has found. She is a good lady!!
RE: the totals. Hopefully this year will be quicker since you've slimmed down the list. You're no longer waiting for people who haven't been around in more than a year. My fingers will crossed for tomorrowbut we all know it's not you we are waiting on and that you can only be as quick as all the potters on the list
Also, another aim this year is to not post without potting so £1.26 out of my purse and into the pot. Everyone feel free to ask me questions when i post so i have to boost my pot up lolSealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

I'm so happy you mentioned that, Ruth, as it's always worried me silly that members would think it's me who holds back or summat daft. Bless you for that.VERY WELL DONE your Mum, ask her if I count?!!! :rotfl:
