:DHi everyone
This has been my first 'official' year potting and I've loved every minute BUT I had to open my tins and jars last night!!! I'm away in a fortnights time to family in Germany and it's my spending money:D
Very happy to report £506.34 :j That wee £6.34 takes me over my hoped for £500.
Anyway, have new tins lined up, ready and waiting. Do I just start again from now or do we all wait until 28th?? I'm going for £600 next year...all the chat about New York has given me ideas:rotfl:
Good luck everyone x0 -

It is true, Flutterby, that little pot can at times be a real money saviour, it really makes you so proud at the end of the year when you view it's contents too!!Saving what you can when you can is the best you can do!
Never mind about the exact amount, newthrift, it still gives encouragement to others...as well as you! Don't forget the date will you?!:DHi everyone

I've already started filling a spare purse until I find a tin of some sort lol...do you all aim for saving a certain coin or do u all bang any loose change in? as I was thinking if to save just £1/£2 coins or 50p's xSPC # 4230

To be honest Luckybella i think we all save differently. I personaly save everything under 50p and all £2 coins. I will pot £1, 50p and notes if i've avoided buying something or if i'm feeling particularly flush. Also, i pot all the scottish and irish notes i get. There's no exact rules to my potting.
If you want to save just one coin why dont you try having 2 pots. One just for that coin and one for any change you want out of your purse? Just a suggestion.
No matter what you choose, its the actual saving that countsSealed Pot Challenge member #071 VSP #4

IMPORTANT NEWS!!!!!!! Personally I think it will be better for all if the count-up date was a little earlier in future as most of us try to get our Christmas shopping done a good deal earlier than the end of November. So.....how do folk feel about changing the date to Thursday the 5th November from 2015 onward??? The starting date will, as always, be the day after.
Please keep this news quoted in posts so everyone gets chance to see!
Many thanks all, Sue xx
Good idea Sue. We've finished our Christmas shopping already so pot money will go straight in the bank anyway. BTW, anyone taking cash into the bank make sure you've got the totals written down with you. Last time I went the bank shortchanged me of £2. I went and got it back but it's unbelievable that a bank should do that. I expect it from shops but not B******s.
Welcome to our new potters.

You save what's best for you, Luckybella. Personally, I save every coin denomination in separate pots as it depends what I have left over...or what hubby's pockets have! It also makes easier counting. I started off with a drinking chocolate tub but now have 2 Terramundis (that I NEVER break open!!) and a lot of others given to me by our DS, DD and D Grandchildren, each raises a smile - even when they're empty at the start of a new challenge as...they were given with love. :smileyheacrimson.addict wrote: »No matter what you choose, its the actual saving that counts
Very true words, Ruth! Thanks so much for your help on the reminder threads. You're a star for sure. :ABTW, anyone taking cash into the bank make sure you've got the totals written down with you. Cor, you wouldn't believe it would you, Modesty, but those B******s bonuses have to come from somewhere! Did I spell bankers correctly by the way??!:think:
I'm pleased you also are for the earlier opening date in future. BTW, the reminder threads are up and running if you'd be the angel you were last year. :A Thanks so much. Please make your correct Nos are on your siggies everyone!!!

Well ive taken half my pennies to the bank (love N*twest, the lovely lady took ALL my bags quite happily
if I could have carried them all I could have done my entire change up in one go
)
DH is a complete donut and managed to get 2 of his bags wrong (I know it wasn't my counting as I counted every pile twice before bagging, theres a reason I don't like him to help!!) so I actually have 30p more than I thought :j so new total isssssssssss:

Hopefully the last bags are all correct
Still no new potfeeling quite lost, its the first time in 4 years I haven't had a pot running
