I do too think that the 5th is a great idea :T

Although I do not usually start my Xmas shopping this early (my sisters rule from when she was small - NO ONE is allowed to talk about Christmas until after her birthday - nov 10th and we have all just stuck with it) I have bizarrely this year bought lots already :D some of it on the credit card and other from the bank so it will just be paid in and then knocked off said CC and the rest will just be spent finishing off the rest UNLESS it is a mahoosive amount and then I might get a treat out of it too and bank the rest :p;)

A NSD today so no potting either.
Now also given that we have moved our day for next year I'm in a pickle as I so want to count up that tin - or do I wait until count up day :mad::mad:

Evening all :D:D I think the 5th is a great idea.

I have done most of my christmas shopping - luckily only buy for a few but I will be opening my pot this coming weekend. I know a little ahead of schedule but I have been invited to a posh christmas dinner dance - OH has bought tickets and I want to buy a posh new frock :D:D:D :D

Getting really swept up now in the excitement of declaration day :j:j

...it's perfectly ok for me to be super excited about this right?? I'm doing my first Christmas without the use of credit cards or overdraft, would be nice to do the same next year too! Thanks again for such a lovely welcome x

Of course it is, Flutterby, more odd if you didn't we'd all say!! ;) Well done in having Christmas without a CC!!!! :T

A very warm welcome, Flutterby83 and Luckybella. It's lovely to have you both with us. :grinheart Enjoy yourselves saving, posting and joining in the banter. You'll find your numbers at the bottom of the list on post 2nd post of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. We always empty our pots and declare our savings near the end of November, please make a note of this year's date: 26th Nov.

Please also subscribe to the thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (lower green bar) and clicking "Subscribe to this thread"...or you may lose us! To put your SPC No on, go to "Quick Links" (right side of top green bar), click and then click on "Edit Signature" and you're away. ;)

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it really helps.

But my kids mates are fair game if they're in my house, yes?? ;)

Be careful with that one, Flutterby, or you'll have all the parents after you, rightly so too!!

Lovely welcomes, Lynne and jakes-mum, a gold star for the pair of you. :staradmin:staradmin

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! :( But but but . . . . your removing 3 weeks from the end of next years challenge! surely its good MSE sense to nick a bit off this years as well to soften the blow by having a bit less of a shortening of a potting time! :D

Trust you to ask that one, jakes-mum, though I take your point. That's ok to do for anyone not wishing to wait til the 27th. However, when declaring PLEASE highlight your totals so they're easily viewable, thanks.
Don't forget those money bags, folks, and PLEASE DON'T get you money changed via Coinmaster as they charge YOU approx 10%!!! It's YOUR savings - keep every penny of it!!!!

Have a lovely Tuesday, all SPCers - and remember...there are only............................9 more potting days left til 27th November!! :j

    Sue x

Anyone wishing to join, it's NEVER too late, so please just ask, you're more than welcome. :grinheart

Of course you can Luckybella! welcome to the SP challenge

Our fearless leader Sue The awesome will be along with her special box of numbers to allocate you your very own, one of a kind, not to be swapped, sold or auctioned SPC number, please pop it on your signature (click quick links on the green banner at the top and select 'edit signature)
Give post 1 on page 1 a good read as this has lots of fabulous information in it about how the challenge works and the few things that cannot be counted in your SPC total (like money from an inheritance)
Now grab yourself a pot, seal it up and start hunting for some change to put in it! FYI, husband rummaging is highly encouraged and can be very lucrative as can teenage child trousers just about to go in the wash (well they are in this house ;)) :rotfl:

EDIT: by that I mean your OWN teen, not just random ones you find in the supermarket  :rotfl:
Thanks for the laugh jakes-mum

I am happy with opening the pot on 5th November next year, but I am not opening this one early (I had to bank some of the money earlier as pot full and don't like lots of money in the house) :D

Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday

Oooooooooooook, well I have to confess now :o We just opened the tins :o I tried Sue! I tried! But Dh coerced me into it  he tempted me with how much i'd enjoy counting it! :o

Total (including money on sig) isssssssssssssss: £912.93

Just realised I have JUST beat last years total :j :j I was so upset just now because I thought I hadn't! So even with my sticky fingered friend I stil managed to scrape past last years total :D Next year I WILL get through that 1K barrier :D:D:D

Off to the bank tomorrow to change it all into notes and Dh said he's going to make me a 'sticky fingers' proof box for the new challenge :D

I'm now off to dream about the kitchen oven extractor fan I shall be buying with my 'free' money :D 8 years we've had this kitchen fitted and still we don't have one! :rotfl:
