Hi Flutterby83
You are most welcome to join us and its never too lategrab yourself a pot and just carry it on to next year. Sue will be along shortly and will give you your very own shiny number that is yours forever and will ask you to kindly pop it on your signature along with any money you might bank through out the year (as some potters dont like to keep lots of money hanging round the house so bank each time they fill a pot up).
The new thread will be created by Sue on pot opening day and she will post a link on this thread to it so we can all find it. You might want to subscribe to this thread as the DFW board does move fast, you can do that by clicking 'Thread Tools' on the green banner at the top of the page and select subscribe to thread.
Finally have a read of the 1st page, 1st post as there is lots of very useful information in it about what can and can't be included in your pot

IMPORTANT NEWS!!!!!!! Personally I think it will be better for all if the count-up date was a little earlier in future as most of us try to get our Christmas shopping done a good deal earlier than the end of November. So.....how do folk feel about changing the date to Thursday the 5th November from 2015 onward??? The starting date will, as always, be the day after.
Please keep this news quoted in posts so everyone gets chance to see!
Many thanks all, Sue xx
EDIT: Darn Lynne! you type faster than me! :rotfl:
I am potting the mysterious £3.40 I found last week as I can't seem to find another home for it - well that's my excuse
Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday

NB everyone! Unlike sparkyI HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TAKE ANY BANKED AMOUNTS FROM YOUR SIGS, I'm trusting that you'll all be able to give me the entire sums you've saved when you declare on the 27th. Thanks a lot folks.
Come on in now, Flutterby83, and get ahead of us all.!! I hope you've seen my PM or the posts of the girls.Oh yes DreamerHelen & crimson that sounds like a cunning plan :T
Wouldn't it be really great to have a SPC grand day out! It should be annually just after count up day so we can for real pat each other on the back - can you imagine if we had lunch in the pub what a raucous bunch we would be! (I think SueUU would need to lie down for a week after trying to control us :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
Don' worry, Meowhouse, Sue often needs to lie down after challenging times with you lot! :wall:Only joking as I'd be lost without it all now. Getting back to an SPC day out, what a great thought, though can you imagine us lot ALL diving for a dropped 1p ...even worse if it were a £1 or a note!!!!!:eek: :rotfl:I'm pleased to see you have your card back.
Here's hoping you get to or over that £200 mark, lucyhope. Lovely to hear you've settled back to normality now though no doubt living off of wonderful memories.
"Its the final countdown" indeed, moohound!!!! :jWill try and find my total for the end of October and add that as well, my pot was filled in June (£344) so had to empty and start again :T
I think I saved around £1000 with both the SP and VSP this year
You're welcome to include savings via any other MSE challenges, Tiptoppex, as it's all savings whichever way you look at it.
Congratulations on your savings, Flat Eric!!!! :T GREAT saving! NB. Could you kindly change your SPC No so that you take the old one off and replace it with the new one which is 25? Sorry, but I had to change the entire lists around earlier this year as many old members no longer come on MSE. PLEASE watch out for a different count-up date for next year's challenge.
Some great savings going on with you, Kerry!tatabubbly wrote:Is there a thread set up for next year?
FFFFFFlipping eck, tatabubbly, give us a chance!!!!!! Not yet there isn't, but don't worry, I'm putting the finishing touches to the 1st post of SPC 8 which will go live just after 12 midnight on the 28th November. We always start again on the very next day after the count-up date, so you be sure to be there!!
Putting from DH's bedside tables is always strongly encouraged, Vicky, after all, he might have forgotten!
<<<"Is moving towards opening day supposed to feel like Christmas? So excited!">>>
YES, for sure, EMMAP!!! :j Precious little to choose between the two for me!!!!!!!Lynsey wrote:Please take Sue's advice and don't use those coin counting machines that charge you!! Make sure you have plenty of money bags and you can use scales to count if wanted - once you've counted and weighed your first bag (of each denomination), you know what to aim for.
Thanks a lot for keeping the news out for folk to see, Lynsey, any time you see similarly important posts of mine I'd be grateful for the help, highlighted where important would be great!! :Tjakes-mum wrote:EDIT: P.S Sue, if you want to bring forward THIS years opening day just let me know:rotfl:
Absolutely :j....................NOT!!!!!!!
£25 added to my pot!! Getting soooooo excited now and ready for the big count-up!
Ok everyone, so it's sorted then, next year the count-up date will be 5th November, so we can open with a bang! Please also note; that I've started the reminder threads today on the main DFW board as well as here on the challenges board. Any help in keeping them on the first page - any time of day - along with Modesty, ETO, Rosy, Ruth and myself would be immense!:D However, please try and leave about 1/2 hr between yours and the last person's post, and always draw the attention of folk to the 1st post on Page 1 (or preferably at the top of each page by simply C&Ping mine) which gives all the info. Very many thanks one and all. :grinheart
Don't forget those money bags, folks, and PLEASE DON'T get your money changed via Coinmaster as they charge YOU approx 10%!!! It's YOUR savings - keep every penny of it!!!!Have a super day, Super savers - and remember...there are only..................
9 more potting days left til 27th November!! :j

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! But but but . . . . your removing 3 weeks from the end of next years challenge! surely its good MSE sense to nick a bit off this years as well to soften the blow by having a bit less of a shortening of a potting time!
I was having a think (as I like to do now and then) and I wondered, how many SPC'ers have actually already opened their pots and are just waiting for 27th to declare? and also how many are hanging on for opening day but are thinking they really could do with the money now. I know the decision has already been made :j:j but just a curiousity thats surfaced from the opening day move discussion . .SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
Thank you for such a warm welcome
my pot is sealed and ready to go, waiting patiently for my number so I can add it to my signature...it's perfectly ok for me to be super excited about this right?? I like the idea of saving for Christmas as I have 4 children to buy for and, thanks to some super planning and a lump sum payment earlier in the year, I'm doing my first Christmas without the use of credit cards or overdraft, would be nice to do the same next year too! Thanks again for such a lovely welcome x

Of course you can Luckybella! welcome to the SP challenge
Our fearless leader Sue The awesome will be along with her special box of numbers to allocate you your very own, one of a kind, not to be swapped, sold or auctioned SPC number, please pop it on your signature (click quick links on the green banner at the top and select 'edit signature)
Give post 1 on page 1 a good read as this has lots of fabulous information in it about how the challenge works and the few things that cannot be counted in your SPC total (like money from an inheritance)
Now grab yourself a pot, seal it up and start hunting for some change to put in it! FYI, husband rummaging is highly encouraged and can be very lucrative as can teenage child trousers just about to go in the wash (well they are in this house) :rotfl:
EDIT: by that I mean your OWN teen, not just random ones you find in the supermarket  :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -
