So my spreadsheet shows what is in any of my accounts at any given moment in time... I love it (as you all must know by now!).
I always work it so that it shows a minimum of £40 in my everyday current account the day before my next pay. Today is a prime example of why.... I went to put fuel in my car this morning but the 'pay at pump' wouldn't accept my CC... so I used my debit card and only put £10 to get me out of trouble. Upon phoning CC company it shows that it was a problem with the terminal rather than my card.
Have just transferred £8.00 to my friend for my share of some flowers for another friend whos dad sadly passed away this week.
So, in the space of a couple of hours, that's £18.00 that wasn't planned. it can run away so quickly can't it!!

A sneaky little Pro.Ac survey yesterday has taken my balance to £10.95 - so over the halfway mark!!

House-sitting starts this evening after work. 8 nights this stint!

Been thinking ahead - and to about 20 months time when my car finance (which will hopefully be on a 0% card from this Sept/Oct) ends... this will free up £213.00 a month- That's £2556 a year! How nice will that be? Very nice!! So the plan is to get the remaining balance onto a 0% card, pay the minimum each month and build up a balance in an interest earning account until the balance on the 0% card needs to be paid in full. I have decided that I will be applying the same principals as I did with my student loan. All 'extra' money earned through surveys, cashback and ebaying will go to boosting the pot, meaning that my money becomes mine sooner! First aim will be to build that pot 1 month earlier! It's looking like I may be house-sitting again late in September... so that can go in there to kick start it!

That's my thoughts for now - have a great weekend all! xxx

In addition to yesterdays post - I am hoping that my settlement figure for the car finance will be lower if I pay it 18 months early as that's 18 months of interest I am saving! RESULT!

    Things to do in July...
    • Check settlement figure on car finance based on clearing it in September
    • get paid for house-sitting
    • up payments to pension
    • decide whether to start a LISA or something similar
    • decorate lounge
    • make a start on OH's ppi claims (MUST DO THIS!!)
    • attend a concert (Sat 8th July)
    • do a boot fair (Sun 16th July)
    • take the day off work (Mon 17th July - will have worked 5 x 6 day weeks by then!)
    • get Pro.Ac up to £20 to cash out
    • visit OH's family (Sun 23rd July)
    • meal out with B & SIL for dinner (Fri 28th July)
    • meet up with Dad & SM (Sat 29th / Sun 30th July - if they come down for the weekend)
So, a nice quiet month for me then!

Just submitted a ppi claim (for OH) through the MSE "Resolver" tool. The CC dates back to 1995 and over that time there have been some pretty hefty balances on there on occasion (pre-me!!) so if it is successful it could be a nice amount! Fingers crossed x

    so, there we are... getting there s l o w l y !!!

Hoping to pay the balance on my PO CC tonight. It is at 0% and the balance is sat in my account earning a bit of interest each month - will be sad to see the back of that £454.79. Oh well, it means the card will be empty and I will ask about a 0% deal to pay my car loan off with! Fingers crossed. If not, it will be closed next week and I will find another card.

Have a grrrreat weekend all! Hoping to come back Monday with news that we made fortunes at the bootfair! xxx

    Morning All!

I can tick another thing off my list as it is Monday - and I am off work!

Bootfair completed yesterday - £148.70 made so really happy with that. 3 black bags taken to the tip along with a rake load of cardboard and 1 box and 4 black bags taken to a charity shop. So money made and serious de-cluttering completed!

PO CC paid this morning and DD cancelled. Not sure on a 0% purchase deal as haven't spoken to them yet - but that can wait until later in the week - no rush!

Still waiting for house-sitting money to arrive... Grrrr!

The sun is shining here, so I think a spot of gentle housework is in order and then off to the beach!

    Happy Monday everyone! xxx
