Things are a bit mixed here. Had quite bad chest pains last night. I've had similar twinges before but last night I had pains in my left arm, felt breathless. Probably should have called an ambulance. I'm here to tell the tale anyway, the pain faded and I went to bed. If it happens again I think I'll go to A&E. I booked an appointment at the doctor's but that's not till the 15th  I might not make it till then! There's a walk-in centre in town which I might go to.
Masomnia, that sounds horrid and scary.
I had chest pains (ages ago now) and tried to get to see GP but they said go straight to A&E. OH was still working then, so didn't manage till evening. Felt it was too over the top to call ambulance! <roll eyes smiley>
I was seen very fast, but basically nothing wrong... But at time was under a load of stress around trying to sort out parental estates with a useless solicitor who parents named (along with OH thank goodness!) as executor for both their stuff. So for me it was down to stress I think. But pain down arm sounds worrying.
Please just call an ambulance if you get the same again! You are a young man, you shouldn't be getting pain like this. I'm a 66 year old woman, so prob take it more seriously (especially given my high bad cholesterol etc), but I hope you will take it more seriously too.
Lecture over!
But please look after yourself!

Thanks everyone. I'm going to go to the walk-in centre tomorrow. First sign of any symptoms tonight I'll ring for an ambulance.
In the mean time I've stocked up on aspirin
Hope it goes well tomorrow and that you have a peaceful night.I have a cashmere wrap
In with as it is an old favourite. My neighbour has sewn Velcro only on my dressing gowns. I want to wear my normalclothes. Out of work tops, gilets , jeans and clogs. Jeans are the problem along with bra's cannot do bra's one handed even sports bra's are tricky
I do expect to do well and get back most functionality it will just take time and a lot of practice. I am learning to be patient.
Lovely to hear from youx

Trouble is, that'll get them on the move. Mrs Furry, when I spoke to her on the phone, said it should be baited first .... but I am not in control of what arrangements neighbour's already set in place with her dad. It's out of my hands.... this is what happens when the 'authorities' don't take a proactive approach to a report from day 1.
Once that's cleared, that'll remove their cover for getting to mine.... but shed provides them with cover. So, it could go either way ....
Can you get something like fly paper, except for rats? Maybe Velcro based? Just a thought. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
You ladies seem a bit overly scared of rodents. On the other hand, I bet you can deal really well with spiders, even though spiders are actually far, far scarier than rats.
Spiders are certainly scarier over here!
The Generalissimos have spent the week with Grandparents & cousins which is fine. The girl and girl cousin found a red bellied black snake, a pretty nastily venomous snake albeit pretty shy. What did they decide to do? Try to make it a pet by going up to stroke it < face palm>.
If you touch one then it will try to run away unless it feels trapped. It might feel trapped
If 2 young girls approached it and tried to stroke it.

Is girl cousin Aussie born and bred? If so she should know better, even if generalissima doesn't. The first thing I learned in Aussie school, before reading and writing, was how the flora and fauna set out to kill you. This was then reinforced, e.g. through school treks and Brownie badges. I can't believe this has all been dropped in the loooong intervening period. I can see that daughter may have missed a lot of this, but not niece.
I never saw any snakes in Australia except in the zoo. For many years as a kid I would have sworn blind that I heard a rattler in the Dandenongs, but as they aren't native it must have been something else... like crickets. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Girl cousin is Aussie born and bred but then The Girl has been here since she was 18 months so both were being dumb.
If it had been a brown snake or a taipan then one of them would be in the hospital right now. As it was, the snake reared up at them (I think it's called displaying ) and it takes a fair amount to get it to do that.0 -
Playing catch-up here.

I ended up in hospital about 5 years ago with chest pains at work, and was lucky enough for someone in the office to drive me there (this was when we were in the old office)
Nothing serious, but better to be safe than sorry. I'm asthmatic, which I don't think helps matters either.💙💛 💔0 -

Have you and Mrs Gen had a wild kid-free out every night week? You ladies seem a bit overly scared of rodents. On the other hand, I bet you can deal really well with spiders, even though spiders are actually far, far scarier than rats.
Spiders aren't at all scary. Rats - they scurry....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Forgot to mention, in good news, the German whom I mentioned finally messaged me back and said she wanted to go out. I kind of feel like the moment has passed, but I would be an idiot not to take her up on it“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0
