PN - although the problem may seem to have 'got worse' today, it hasn't - it's a major leap closer to getting better. And you've played a pivotal role in that by getting people talking together about it and realising their relatively little separate problems are part of a bigger picture. Well done you.

Many happy returns to today's birthday boys! Hope you both have lovely days _party_

What Nikkster said. PN is doing a grand job of community relations!

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Oh brought dog to see me on weds it was lovely. I sat outside in my wheelchair and fed him bonios. I am well looked after oh and friends are bringing in my meals . Today black pudding salad for lunch. Tonight grilled tuna. My mobility is key to me being safe to go home and I am quite stable it really is about gait and arm now whichight cando at home. I still need help to dress.

So glad you got to see your dog - must have been a welcome break from "rehab". Mmmm, black pudding salad sounds yummy!

Help to dress - that's difficult. A voluminous cashmere shawl might help? Soft and warm, no sleeves to battle with. Bit on the pricey side, I usually buy in their sales, when prices do come down considerably. I've had a red one of these for around 7 years now, it's lovely and soft and cosy and great for chucking round yer neck on cold winter evenings! (I have no link to Pure Cashmere other than as a very satisfied customer.)

There are various websites that do clothes for people who can't manage buttons and so on. Most of the stuff is a bit naff though to my eyes. But velcro is your friend! ;) Get one of your friends to stitch to your cardigans and skirt/trouser closures? Of course for it to appear cardigans/jackets closed the correct way for a female you'd have to get male clothes for it to look right IYSWIM. But I doubt people really notice that anyway.

I know I'm only new here, but I'm so glad to see you back posting dear Spirit! :j :) May your arm grow stronger, and your walking improve. My very best wishes to you from Liverpool. :)

Its times like this that I wish I wasn't doing all of this on my own.

I've just got in from mowing the lawn in the back garden. I'd have liked to mow the front as well, but it's now dark outside. It was hard work mowing the grass as it was long and lush and green. I've not done it for 3 weeks.

The garden looks rather sad in general. I've not been out watering for quite a while :(

Oh well, next year will be different. I'll probably still be doing it all alone, but at least I'll have one less thing to deal with.

    Must keep going.

Don't worry about watering, its going. To rain . All next week.

There are timesb I be go by. The theory. If its not tough enough. It doesn't deserve to make it. Its been warm but there has been plenty of dew. We have only watered the herbs we have moved. Ideal, no, but it'll live ( or not :o)

It will probably all be mud soon any how.

Good to hear from you Spirit :) Sounds like you're making good progress.

Things are a bit mixed here. Had quite bad chest pains last night. I've had similar twinges before but last night I had pains in my left arm, felt breathless. Probably should have called an ambulance. I'm here to tell the tale anyway, the pain faded and I went to bed. If it happens again I think I'll go to A&E. I booked an appointment at the doctor's but that's not till the 15th  I might not make it till then! There's a walk-in centre in town which I might go to.

On the plus side, I've got the house to myself tonight, which is a pretty rare treat :) I'd rather be out enjoying myself, but I'll take a relaxed night in.

I think you should go. I think you should phone the GP between now and then for a cancellation or emergency appointment. And if it happens again don't think about a and e GO to a and e.

When I go I get very restless ( not nervous just restless) and piddle a lot. Last time ( the no vision time I think it was something like 16 times. Each time waddling through a and e to the loo. clutching that gown around my exposed backside.

    Edit...

For and I have house to self too, I've been alone this week again, which is part of why I've been annoyed I've been so floppy and pathetic.

You ladies seem a bit overly scared of rodents. On the other hand, I bet you can deal really well with spiders, even though spiders are actually far, far scarier than rats.

I'm not scared of either. But I really, really dislike earwigs.
