Hello All!:hello:
Sorry I've not been around for so long.
Manic time is severely extended this year. Very unlikely I'll be about for another month - workload, staff shortages and the like. Bit of a mare in some ways. Having very little spare time at the mo. However simply had to drop in....
I had a fantastic, slightly naughtily over extended lunch break (had to stay over at work to make up a bit of time, even though they owe me 60 hours already!) However, an utter, utter delight to meet two delightful ladies. What struck me most about our meet, was that everyone smiled. A lot. Like pretty non-stop.
Doozergirl & lydia are so well spoken, my accent must have sounded as common as muck! However, calling this the NP thread is a clear understatement.
Thanks for making my day ladies!:)
& thanks for the cards too.I'm fighting to stay awake til midnight, so I can open them straight away!
Accents are lovely.....most of them. And accents certainly don't reveal the value of a person, though words might give a clue. ( though might be pretty nothings too)
Smiles sound wonderful.0 -

I was worried they were taking you bmi and bp for this professional course which seemed a little harsh..
Enjoy being in a bed so done else has to make, and a breakfast someone else will make you.
You are there because you are capable of it.

Quick update on the world of jelly.
Work is manic. Not quite 12 hour days still, but having to work over.
Been enrolled on a year long course, resulting in the working day effectively being 13 hours one day a week.
We won the bowls league!
Have started cycling to work. 3 miles each way. Some rather large hills. However only takes 5 mins longer than in the car. Weather so far has been very favourable, which helps.
My car got keyed, which helped encourage me to cycle & keep it up. Sadly that's a £300 bill I could do without.
I think I have lost a little weight, which was needed. I was definitely out of shape - first couple of journeys were tough. However recovery from the exertion is now much better, & I'm feeling good for it.
Had some sad news recently. A very good & close friend drowned, in what you might call unexplained circumstances. Seems he also had contact with the police shortly before he died too. I spent a lot of time with him 15 or so years ago. Whilst he'd drifted away, I kinda always hoped we'd meet again. Such a shame we won't.
It also made me feel a little morbid/reflective, given tomorrow. His funeral will be on monday.
I'll try to return as soon as practically possible! I do hope everyone is well. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Shhh! It's my 40th...
I didn't need any leading to be fair. I could've easily sat there for a few more hours. It was lovely - as Lydia says, so comfortable.
And of course, both are such interesting people. I could've quite happily carried on listening to more stories for another 2 hours.lostinrates wrote: »Accents are lovely.....most of them. Hi jelly, good to see you and hope that the "Jelly Towers Project" (sounds like a prog rock album) is going well. Happy birthday for tomorrow.
Will you be getting a copy of the new Ripper book? Saw it when I was doing some book buying. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

The bp and BMI were entirely voluntary and confidential, don't worry; nothing to do with the course - apols for not being clearer. I was just curious to see what they were (and what impact all that chocolate and other non-healthy food had had)!
It was lovely eating in the hotel restaurant this evening, and I shall enjoy breakfast, thanks.I'm trying to stay awake until I finish doing some work I've remembered I need to do for tomorrowwhich was dropped on me yesterday

Good luck with the work!lemonjelly wrote: »Quick update on the world of jelly.
