I mean, of all of us one assumes I'm the one people might assume would go for it and I think its yucky,
"Is Tinder not useful to you because of being able to pick up one nighters in the good old fashioned way?" is the sort of question that wouldn't have a right answer for me - like the famous "Have you stopped beating your wife?"Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Thanks. That was enough to track it down. It's called "Your home in their hands".
We've just got in from going to an open evening for one of the possible schools for DD to go to next year. Now I need to pack her off to bed, and I can't watch it tonight because she wants to watch it with me so I've said I'll wait until tomorrow and we can watch it together after school.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Or indeed whose cheek?
PS My post, while factually accurate, was also meant in a banter-some rather than disapproving way. But I hope you knew that.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I think it's some kind of smart phone app for hooking up with people. It tells you if other members are nearby so you can arrange to meet them if you're interested. I gather from chewy's post that you put a pic of yourself on for other people to decide whether they like the look of you. Chewy felt that the man whose activity was so easily visible to him was being overambitious about his own charms compared with the desirability of the young women he was picking.
Does that help?
Think so, an electronic way of saying "do you come here often?" or some other chat up line.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Hello all hope NP are well . Slow progress here . Arm still pretty useless. May go home next week. On an over 65 rehab ward being asked questions like who is the primeminister .iwanted to answer Disreali
The silly questions were probably the Mini Mental State Examination. Did they ask you to count backwards from 100 in 7s? Or spell world backwards? Answering Disraeli might have knocked a few points off your score, or they might have made a report in your notes 'uncooperative'.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Me too (assuming they're still there - not been out for a couple of weeks).
I should also do 'something' about the potatoes too. Anything that needs doing needs doing this weekend really.
I've dug up spuds as late as March, so no rush unless you feel the urge.Hello all hope NP are well . Slow progress here . Arm still pretty useless. May go home next week. On an over 65 rehab ward being asked questions like who is the primeminister .iwanted to answer Disreali
Tablet doesn't want to do smillies (that word just autocorrected to smelliest!) so just imagine a jumping up and down person to hear from you and a big grin.ukmaggie45 wrote: »I don't understand any of this (I'm 66 and female) but I thank as I assume it's useful for some of the Nice People... Is there anything I could look at to get any understanding? Bare in mind I'm fairly cognitively Kaput, need what you'd explain to a 6 year old.
But don't worry if it's time thingy stuff that takes ages. I may well not understand anyway, so really don't want you to spend time trying to explain stuff that I prob won't understand anyway.
As I understand it (from a colleague, you understand), you register on the site and provide a photo of yourself. The website accesses your location from your phone when you're out and about, and shows your picture to others in that location. Anyone who is looking for who's around sees all relevant pictures, and swipes them to one side or the other of the phone screen depending on whether you're interested in them or not. I have no idea what happens after that ... !
I am in a hotel for tomorrow's workshop. Huge panic attacks before I left home and travelled here, am OK at the moment but stomach churning a little. This is supposed to get easier with exposure, not harder.
Work's quite hard; they've had one of those machines which gives you indications of weight/BMI/body fat/blood pressure in the canteen at work this week. My bp was in the high category earlier in the week, which is unusual for me. I was feeling stressed at the time. I took it again today before leaving the office at lunchtime, and it had gone back down to more usual good levels, which was a relief of sorts.
One of my colleagues was supposed to be at our office today but emailed to say her mum had been admitted to hospital as an emergency overnight - my colleague is probably 5-10 years younger than me and has already lost her dad and her mum now lives in residential accommodation. Such a hard time for everyone concerned.
Oh well, probably should try to get a half-early night...0 -

I've had a lovely dayWell done. Keep going!
What a coincidence. So have I! I wonder if lemonjelly did too????
Hello All!:hello:
Sorry I've not been around for so long.
Manic time is severely extended this year. Very unlikely I'll be about for another month - workload, staff shortages and the like. Bit of a mare in some ways. Having very little spare time at the mo. However simply had to drop in....
I had a fantastic, slightly naughtily over extended lunch break (had to stay over at work to make up a bit of time, even though they owe me 60 hours already!) However, an utter, utter delight to meet two delightful ladies. What struck me most about our meet, was that everyone smiled. A lot. Like pretty non-stop.
Doozergirl & lydia are so well spoken, my accent must have sounded as common as muck! However, calling this the NP thread is a clear understatement.
Thanks for making my day ladies!:)
& thanks for the cards too.I'm fighting to stay awake til midnight, so I can open them straight away!
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Oh yorkie.
I was worried they were taking you bmi and bp for this professional course which seemed a little harsh..
Enjoy being in a bed so done else has to make, and a breakfast someone else will make you.
You are there because you are capable of it.0
